good idea or bad idea?

I'm making several changes to MegaHung's member's area but I have a question.

My friend who owns LeatherBoundSex is doing my remodel as he did his and I like it a lot. I put together what I want mine to look like in Words of all programs but I like it too. It's very different then his so I'm pleased with my unique design. The question I have is this; Is it okay to tell him that he can put a link to his HUB in my members area? I have a HUB as well, but I'm not sure it's ready to be posted in my members area as the affiliate programs on it were not put there by myself but by the person who built it for me. In fact, I don't know that the affiliate programs have me listed as the owner or referer.

Ok the question is, is it okay to put a link to a hub of another persons site in my member's area?

I'm not sure this makes sense but if it does, please enlighten me.

How long is the link going to be there? A link inside a members area, to another site, has value. Determine the value of what you're getting, the value of your link, and leave it up a specified amount of time accordingly. Another option is to become an affiliate of his and make a percentage of each sale. That way you can track hits to outbound links from your members area and better know the value of your link. :wtf:

Good feedback. They don't have an affiliate program. Is there another way to track how many surfers my site sends?

If you do a search on Google under click tracking http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...click+tracking you can find a few. I've used the third one down for $10 a month and they're great.

You can also look at your logs, depending upon how your site is set up, you may be able to get some information.

MamaKity, there's nothing wrong in helping out your friends and buds in the business with links. Xstr8guy links to my site and I link to his, but we both do it on the outside. Seems strange, I know, aren't we losing sales? Yeah maybe, but if a surfer is clicking a button at the bottom of your page, you probably lost them already.

But on my inside pages, I only promote stuff that I can make money on. Think of it this way. Your members area is qualified credit card traffic. These people have already paid for porn at least once. Why not try and sell them something else?

Cross-selling other programs in your member's area is how you make money off all those people who already have BadPuppy memberships.

Rather than helping them by putting a link to their site in your members area why not trade traffic with them from an exit console when a surfer of your DOESNT buy a membership to your site?

At least that way they wont cancel a membership to your site when they find better content inside your friends (potentially).
