Reality Filming

Does anyone use a script when they shoot a reality video?

I have seen a few and they have this Shot from the hip feel to them. The guy walks in, looks around, says I’m her for the job then straight to the crotch rubbing and ripping down their pants.

By scripts I mean something like this:

(Warning … Not a script righter)

Ext-Day-Yard

Chris is in the yard cutting the grass. The sun is hot and shines off his sweaty body. He is in a pair of kaki shorts with his shirt off and tucked in at the small of his back.

Int-House-day

John is looking out the window. You see Chris pause and run his hand across his forehead to remove the sweat.

Cut to – John’s face

John lets out a small smile

INT-House-Day

John turns from the window and walks to the kitchen

EXT-yard-Day

Chris makes his last run across the grass. The yard work done. You see John walk out of the front door with an Ice tea in his hand.

John
"Looks like you could use this"

John hands him the tea

Chris
"Thanks!"

John
"The yard looks great! What do I owe you?"

Chris
"$25. I’ll go get your invoice."

John
"Sounds good. I’ll go get my wallet. If you want, just bring the invoice inside."

John goes back into the house. Chris walks over to his truck and grabs out some paperwork

INT-House-Day

Chris steps into the house. He doesn’t see John but can see the pool through the sliding glass window.

John walks out from his bedroom. Chris is by the sliding glass window, looking out at the pool.

John
"Maybe I’ll have you cut the back yard next time."

Chris turns around to face John

Chris
"Sure, just let me know when."

John
"So it was $25, right?"

Chris
"Yeah… this is your copy"

Chris sets the invoice onto the table

As John pulls out his money, Chris takes another sip of his drink and looks back at the pool

John
"Jump in if you want."

Chris
"Excuse me?"

John
"The pool, jump in if you want."

Chris
"Oh, I can’t… But thanks."

John
"I’m sorry. You probably have more jobs to go to."

Chris
"Actually this is my only job today. It’s just I don’t have anything to swim in."

John
"Who needs something to swim in?"

John cracks a cheeky smile

John – Cont.
"I’m sure I have something that would fit you."

Chris
"Are you sure it would be cool?"

John
"I don’t see why it wouldn’t. Come on; let’s go find you some shorts."


And so on...

i see a lot of milf stuff shot with a lot of plot... some niches seem to have it a lot more than others.

me, i think 2 - 3 minutes of explanatory plot can make the reality seem a lot more real.

Ironically, without a script there are no adult reality productions.

I can't figure out why it's called reality anyway. My definition of reality porn is the voyeur home with 25 cameras or the webcam model talking in a chatroom.

That type of stuff is true reality. Coaxing someone onto a bus to perform on cam isn't.

But anyway... Scripted story porn, fake reality porn, whatever you want to call it usually has a script of some sort.

the people i know who shoot reality porn don't use a script. they use guidelines. they sit down with the models and explain what the situation is, the general ways the person they are portraying would respond (on, no! i could NEVER do that) and so on. but there is no actual script.

If you dont happen to have access to the models and a provider is doing the shooting for you then we have found in the past that a rough scenario (no longer than 2 paragraphs) usually works to give the provider an idea of what you are looking for.

that is how i shoot any of my stuff, NO SCRIPT, but we sit down with models and give them guidelines. i personally think scripts ruin porn in a big way, and make them turn into comedy.

When we shoot "plot-based" porn, we generally have the scenario worked out in advance, and then we usually spend a few minutes with the models brainstorming and refining it.

Usually somebody will come up with some good lines and/or gimmicks to stick in -- we love throwing a little something in for a laugh or just to sort of poke fun at ourselves -- and we run through things a few times and then shoot it.

Including the models in the brainstorming process really helps... they feel ownership in what's created and most of the time, they really enjoy the scenarios that we create and have a lot of fun filming them.
