accountant question

Hello everyone, my name is Jovan. I am new to the board. I've been reading over threads for the past couple of months and getting all the info I can. I am looking to film content in Florida and have gotten to the point where I want to get an accountant and lawyer set up. I have a lawyer in mind, but I am having a hard time finding an accountant. I want an accountant that has dealt with the adult industry before so I can talk candidly with them about everything and not have to worry about it being new territory for them. So if anyone here knows of someone that would fit that mold then please let me know. I am in Jacksonville, but plan to film all over Florida so I could probably deal with an accountant anywhere in Florida. Thanks in advance and I'm sure this won't be my last question for you guys.

The best advice i can give you for this is to actually speak to your lawyer if they work in the adult industry, they are bound to know someone who does accounting that works in or around the adult industry too.

You could always go to a regular accountant afterall, they dont NEED to know that you are working in porn.

When my ultra conservative bookkeeper was told what our new business was, she declined to keep us as a client. She did however suggest a CPA in her building, who she thought was more opened minded than she.

So I asked how she knew his mind ... she whispered .. I think he's a homosexual. LOL! I kept a straight face, but wondered why she came to that conculsion, until I met my new accountant. GAY? Youbecha! I didn't assume because he is gay, he'd want to take on an account who's business isn't `nilla, but he did!

I'm SO HAPPY! I swear I didn't think that you could be gay in this old good ole boy city. Come to find out there's even a small Christian church here that about 20 ppl who are gay attend. I haven't worshiped in a church for many years, never feeling what has been spun from the pulpit in recent years, was right preaching.

So when I put on my Sunday best and step over that threshold, it will prove to me that G-d indeed, works in mysterious ways. I am very hopeful that I will once again hear the true message of Christ - Love and acceptance.

dknu247 - I would ask the lawyer you want to talk to. That's how I found my first CPA. To be honest it's the easiest way. I went from CPA to CPA here in FLA (We're in Daytona) trying to find someone who I wanted to work with and who would work with me. I found Kate via my former business lawyer. It was fine for a while until she was born again then it was over - long story there! LOL

Thanks for the help guys. I talked to the lawyer and he referred me to someone. Now I just have to wait on him to call me back and see what he says.
