The arguments the right-wing put forth to oppose same sex marriage were just plain ridiculous. As the judge rightly pointed out, you don't need to have children to be married and you don't need to be married to have children. And protect "traditional marriage"? Just over 50 years ago they were saying we needed to prohibit inter-racial marriage to protect traditional marriage.
Thank God for activist judges! At least someone has some smarts!
Judge Kramer was appointed to the bench by a Republican governor, and prior to being elevated to the bench he worked for large banking interests. The attorneys that have practiced before him and publically commented on his professionalism said that Judge Kramer is not one to be swayed by popular opinion and that he does what is right. I also believe he has a Catholic upbringing, but not sure on that one.
The religious right seems to collectively have their hair set fire when one of their own rules against them. The right wingers are even squawking that he should be removed from the bench.
I have never run across more evil, hateful, arrogant bigots than those that proclaim themselves Christians.
i have met some very nice, non-judgemental christians out there who seem to actually practice a lifestyle based on love. they do exist.
it's about time! just wish more citys would think along the same lines.
