Well, I'm not going to name any names, but SOMEONE I know wrote off their new Select Comfort bed as a business expense.
It's a "prop" that was used in the creation of videos and photoshoots.

I didn't really have any strange write-offs.
A computer. Travel expenses. A couple porn site memberships that I did actually join for research purposes only. Pretty basic, normal stuff.
I don't really try and get too creative with my taxes. I do my utmost to ensure I don't pay more than I have to, but I'm also not out to pay less than my fair share. Maybe it's because I used to work for the federal government and so feel I'm obligated to pay what I owe? Who knows. But the only business write-offs I take are actual, explicit and affirmed business expenses.
For the first quarter of every year, I'm workin' for Uncle Sam. That's just how it is. :D
I wrote off my subscription to France Today magazine.
My tax preparer seriously suggested writing off some Club Houston bathhouse visits. ( as lodging ?!?)
I said that I just couldn't do that - frankly I would not want to have an explanatory conversation with anyone with the IRS about that. Besides, the automobile mileage for those jaunts added up pretty fast. {I do have a friend in Houston whose insurance business I host and perform website work for as a side client)

Nothing to crazy here, I wrote off some hardwood floors I got in my office.
Looks like the middle classed got slammed with that alternative tax that is causing alot of people to complain. I hate taxes like everyone else but at least if we had some decent people running the country and doing things that made sense with the taxpayers money I wouldn't mind sending them so much money.

Nothing exciting to write off for `04- I have plenty of strat up costs to last me a few years .. but in `05 I'm going to have the company replace all my old corsettes and scenewear. ;)

I think any tax man seeing lube and dildos on a tax retuen would think twice about auditing it for fear of what he would be walking into :)
A good catagory in a chart of accounts is SAMPLES. It's a nifty lil sub-catagory under marketing research costs. Not that it is really all that needed, and mabe just a tad anal .. but that's what the CPA is for.Quote:

as a rule of thumb! , i always prepare my taxes as if i'm going to get audited that year!...it's my CPA! that finds all the "angles"..err.."exemptions" , and then i have to go hunting for reciepts!
