I use premiere, but i find video edit magic a lot easier to use for simple edit jobs. And unlike premier i can work with and edit wmv files in video edit magic. Plus it only costs about $50.

I like Ulead®
VideoStudio™ 9 it's easy to use as well.
I switch between Ulead Video Studio and Pinnacle Studio depending on the task. Both programs have features that I really like, are easy to use, seem to do everything that I want to do (at this point), And are less than $100. I'm sure at some point I'll want to upgrade, but for now I'm pleased with the results.
i use ulead video toolbox. it's a wizard, so i can encode without worrying about a timeline, plus once you get the hang of it, there are lots of options. i also like sorenson squeeze for its simplicity and the small files it creates.
Vegas Video, Adobe Premiere, the splitter and joiner from www.boilsoft.net, canopus procoder and sorenson squeeze, plus a ton of codecs :)
We use Canopus Procoder and Sorenson Squeeze. Both are good, fast, and pretty easy to use.
oh, yeah - Newton reminded me... i also use the splitter and joiner from boilsoft.
Yea sorenson does a great job squeezing the file with good quality its a HOT codec.

that clip is only 9 megs and the quality is great for that file size. It can be increased of course with better quality.
Vegas..nothing..and I mean nothing truly compares to it imho.
It's currently on version 6.0
