MaxPixels is my main job, but I do work once a week in a little leather bdsm shop. I was offered the job and I took it partly because I knew everyone who works there and the entire inventory already, partly as a way to meet people, but mainly for the employee discount
That's cool, Don Mike. It helps to get out and enjoy things in another environment away from the computer and that ones right up your alley ;)
I've attached a couple of pics. One is the front pond at my place in Santa fe, and the other is the gate which I painted the same colors as the trumpet vines. I've done alot of gates in Santa Fe as well.
Yeah, I really like it. And I've always been outgoing but never much of a flirt. I'm very friendly but never the type to hit on someone directly. But after working there I've become a raging flirt. My favorite thing to say is "If you'd like to see something in the case I'll be happy to whip it out for you." :)Quote:

Tele'n takes a lot out of me, so I actually come to the office (Large Cash) simply to get off my feet, kickback and relax. So, aside from telemarking (FYI: it is the original method or form of skiing, not selling product over the phone), no other job for this none Joe... I simply refuse to work two jobs !
Many years back, I moved to Vancouver because I wanted something different, which I received. Different 'things' such as a one room garage with no air circulation, unless I opened the garage door for $800CDN/month (rotti/dog approved), much much bigger bills (gas, tax ETC), spider bites, deadbeat rats for roomies, and the need for a second job, which I will never do again (I do mean never)!
Extra money is always nice to have, but it is not worth my not living life simply to acquire more of what I do not really need.
WOW, very nice. My Papa tried to get me into gardening and landscaping, but I am going to wait for the day I blow both my kneecaps and the doc tells me to find another hobby (LOL... like I am going to listen).Quote:

My second job is being a Domestic Goddess. ;)
Even as we speak, I'm uploading videos and have a nice lemon cake in the oven. Multitasking at its finest.
Yummy - I love lemon.Quote:

Well, I quit my job in August because the company made me sick (literally). Heartburn at it's finest! It was not stress but it was how they treated employees after a major merger.
They paid me up until end of December to stay at home and now I'm on a paid leave (bonus payment).
Right now I am looking for a job - I actually managed to get ONE application out of my Outbox yesterday ;D
At the company I was sort of an programmer, system administrator, incident manager, powerpoint presenter kinda guy - nothing big.
DEV.
Woo hoo, sweet job, Jimmy.Quote:

I work...for...Walmart. Yeah. Toy Dept. But hey, I watch enough cartoons to know what this parents are talking about so.:goof:

My other job would be taking care of my honey and my cat. Seriously, what I do online is my job / career.
My day job is AVN Online, though it's merely one facet of my overall career: entertainment journalism. At night, I freelance for several local/national magazines that cover movies, music and the arts. I also do script coverage as a freelance story analyst for a couple talent agencies and production companies in L.A., namely Creative Arts Agency (CAA) and Participant Productions (Syriana). And lastly, though I don't get paid for it (yet), I do write mainstream film screenplays. That's originally why I moved to L.A. in the first place. :)
Video editing and production. My BF is a producer/director so we work together most of the time.
At the moment, we're working on a reality show for a rapper. :)
I get to do this as my full-time job, though my passion and background is in video production and editing I do a once a year gig for the opening segment of the Grabby's in Chicago.
I don't have time to relax let alone do another job LOL!!!
cheers,
Luke
Woohoo, another cartoon aficionado. Always good to see I am not the only child@heart.Quote:

I must confess, I downloaded all the Schoolhouse rock cartoon videos. I love that music and the videos. I'm more of an old school cartoon person, I love h.r. puffenstuff, land of the lost, speed racer, stuff like that from the golden age of cartoons :)
OMG, I have a Sid and Marty Kroft video box set that has one episode of each of their shows. What a trip. My favorite was the HR Puffinstuff where they turned Jimmy into a mechanical boy. I always wanted to do a punk rock cover of the song he sings. LOL!
Childhood cartoon favs? Lets see.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (fav was Donatello)
He-man, and the Master's of the Universe(oh yeah, hold aloft that mighty sword)
Smurfs (yay for communism and witchcraft)
David the Knome (if you watched Nick Jr.)
Grape Ape (with Beagly the Beagle)
Wacky Races
Wuzzles
Popples
Gummi Bears
Pound Puppies
Tom and Jerry
Beatlejuice
Bevis and Butthead(hey, part of it was a cartoon)
I guess thats a few. I grew up in the 80s so that generation of cartoons go to my heart.
Weren't Saturday morning cartoons the BEST...????
Tarzan and the Super 7. . that was my fave. . .
and all the ones that came after it.
As Margaret Cho put it. . .you sadly knew it all came to an end when Soul Train came on. .
And did anyone get up so early that the morning news was on? You'd wait patiently for the first cartoons to come on, get your cereal and milk and be all ready for a morning full of cartoon watching. The very first show to come on in my area was a strange little show called Hot Fudge. I don't know if it was a local show, I don't think it was national. It had people and puppets and was sort of psychedellic but in a geeky sort of way.
If you have a vague recollection of this show you can check out some of the albums here...

I only work at home i don't get out of the house to work hehe
Haha. Did you get the Schoolhouse Rock! Rocks CD that came out a few years back, with all the bands doing covers of those songs? There was also a CD that came out with songs from all the Saturday morning shows. Liz Phair does the "Tra La La" song. Fun stuff on there. No one does "Mechanical Boy," but the Murmurs do the theme song from "H.R. Puffnstuff." (The blonde in the band, Leisha or something like that, is now on The L Word.)Quote:

Will from Land of the Lost -- who was such a fuckin' hottie -- apparently grew up to be a psychotic fag, from what I hear. But I have no idea if that's grounded in truth, or if it's just a rumor. But I probably wouldn't have kicked him out of bed for boiling bunnies. :)
Okay, Dart, that's scary. LOL! I wish you could get those on DVD. But you know, I'd probaby hate them now. LOL!
Ken, I had both of those CDs. I don't know if I still do. I've lost many great CDs and DVDs in my treck from PA to LA and in the various moves since. The Schoolhouse Rock cover CD was a real disappointement. Even Daniel Johnson, whom I usually love, did a terrible cover. And the guys who covered "Interplanet Janet" managed to suck all the life out of what would have been a really good pop-punk song.
The Saturday Morning CD, on the other hand, was amazing. The Ramones doing Spiderman? I mean, it just doesn't get better than that? The Murmer's did a great job with the Puffnstuff theme. And while the Dickies did a much better punk rock version of the Banana Splits song, Liz Phair and Material Issue did a pretty damn good version themselves.
Hmmm, I'm gonna need to dig that out, if I still have it, and add it to my Ipod.
Ok now let me add to this topic. . .
. . .which fag remembers:
"Oh zephyr winds which blow on high, lift me now so I can fly!!!"
I actually enjoyed some of the disc. I liked Blind Melon's cover of "Three Is the Magic Number." I think there were a few others, but by and large, it wasn't brilliant or anything.Quote:
