I know how anal sex feels and I just personally want to save this part of sex for someone special that may or may not come along. Until then, I just fantasize about it :)

I'm really alarmed now because really cautious men, men who lived in the 80's with me, through all the death, are letting their guard down now for some reason. I ask them why they are barebacking now and guess what.. they said the same thing about what you said "it feels great", things along that line... "you should try it, it's so much better than with a condom", you can live along time and be healthy... I realize your a good boy and you use condoms and that's very commendable, but this industry is giving the impression that barebacking is ok.

God, even Jake Cruise is doing babeback now. Guys see that and it reinforces that notion that it's ok to have sex that way. I know what you mean about facing alot of objections from webmasters and companies that do produce it. But..something has to be done.

Ummm I never said barebacking feels great I said Bottoming with a condom feels good LOL sorry If I didnt clarify what I was saying before excuse me I just like to top and bottom is all I meant safely of course! I like the best of bolth worlds!

Just to clarify, I didn't think you did any form of barebacking. I was just trying to give some insight on why some men who know better are now barebacking regularly.

This is such a touchy subject. I hesitate to even respond to a thread like this because it's so controversial.

I think the issue of why SOME men prefer barebacking goes a lot further than "it feels good." For many, it's the act of being uninhibited and not restrained by anything. Sex was never meant to be safe or negotiated. It's dirty, it's messy, it's raw. Or should be. That's one reason.

The other reason is... well, let's be honest. It's self-esteem. Or, more precisely, lack thereof. A lot of gay men -- even today -- feel shame for being gay, and let's face it... a lot of gay men are very unhappy. There is a common belief that we are deserving of whatever is coming to us, and a lot of us buy into that. Barebacking can oftentimes be a slow form of "suicide" for some of these very unhappy gay men. A lot of gay men just don't love themselves enough to take care of themselves the way they should. It's not an issue that people want to face, but it's a reality for our community. We're not all happy-go-lucky and well-adjusted.

Bareback sex may feel better for the top, but really, can a bottom really feel it? (Well, OK, sometimes, latex irritates my asshole. There! I said it! Haha) Still, most times the bottom really doesn't know the difference. But it's the psychological turn-on that you're doing it raw that is so hot. And even though a lot of guys do it b/cuz they are suffering from low self-esteem, some just do it b/cuz raw sex truly is hotter. It's as real and as intimate as you can get.

And, of course, there is crystal and alcohol -- two VERY common drugs among gay men. I think it's obvious how these things lead gay men to make unsafe decisions.

Now, I'm not condoning any of this, nor am I suggesting that "safer sex" can't be intimate and real. I'm just laying out the reasons why gay people participate in bareback sex.

Unfortunately, however, HIV is a reality for our generation. But again, I think that the focus should be on the education of the gay community and figuring out ways of connecting with gay men and helping them learn to love themselves and take care of themselves better. Focusing our attention on "doing away with bareback porn" is really not the answer. That's really only just eliminating the sympton while we spread the disease. Bareback porn is NOT the problem. Personal health begins with the individual. That is where we must truly start. Gay men feel so disconnected from each other in today's society. That's why many of us are turning to drugs and alcohol and anonymous sex. (Then again, some of us just like this stuff for the thrill of it alone.)

Personally, I do prefer bareback sex, but I'm also smart enough to know when not to partake in it out of respect for myself and my health. Watching bareback porn, however, has no bearing on the choices I make as a RESPONSIBLE adult.

Well this afternoon a friend messaged me after returning from what essentially was a lunchtime bareback party, and all the individuals hooked up over Manhunt. (and me I was at home making almond toffee)

I don't see why the movies are considered the beginning and the end of promoting proper sexual behaviors. And I don't think it really has enabled the activity very much. Frankly, knowledge of barebacking, barebacking hookups and activity began with the advent of AOL, gay.com and online hookup sites like manhunt. Chat rooms and message boards.

I'd never even heard of barebacking until I found an IRC channel ten years ago called GayBareback. I guess the way I think about it is similar to drugs or alcohol. The demand for it exists. If you prohibit it, it continues underground. It potentially leads to dangerous consequences. People know what they are doing. It's consentual.

I have difficulty judging what is essentially popular culture.

well said! That is the first I heard of alot of stuff LOL IRC :)... Manhunt and gay.com and Sex4hotmen.com are a mixture of tons of drugs and bareback sex I would honestly say those are the worst and precise examples of promoting drugs and sex together.. LoL I have heard people say I go on manhunt just for friends LOL... Yeah right give me a break.. Any sight that give options to put your status and what you are looking for and the choices are ( 1 on 1 , hookups, groups LOL ) I would have to totally agree with desslock.. Porn is definatly not the cause for it and there is many other sources that I would consider faults of this acitivity ... But ADULTs should take responsibilty for whatever they do!! period!!! :)

P.s. Everyone should be educated and responsible... those are the keys and it is ridiculous I think people have to try and push there views on other people! What makes this world go round it differences! It is nice to debate but not argue or fight! Let people do there own thing.. As long as it doesnt get pushed on you that is fine.. And if you feel it is effecting then get away from it!! Cause there is alot of things other than porn in this world that you arent going to like and if you are in the porn business there is going to be things you dont like! 40%+ of new HIV infections in every HIV report site gays, I'm fucking tired of reading that. Fucking tired. It's inexcusable 3% of the population to account for that much of new hiv infections. Ridiculos and very stupid

I have yet to see any HIV+ straight porn actors go around fucking in movies without condoms.

My boyfriend doesn't wear rubber but we don't fuck with others. And even then we still use condoms for a variety of reasons other than HIV.

That's definitely not true. While we don't shoot bareback, I do know a number of models who have done so, and who aren't positive (yet... if they keep barebacking, I'm quite certain they will be.)

However, I have heard of at least one studio (who shall go unnamed...) that has on at least one occasion mixd HIV+ and HIV- models in bareback porn... they just throw a bunch of money at the models and say "One of the models is HIV+. You don't mind doing bareback, do you?" Same studio also mixes HIV+ models together to do bareback, which is pretty well proven now to bring high risk of drastically increasing onset and severity of the disease.

Another small studio has a key model that is HIV+ but tells everyone he's not, and continues to shoot (safer) scenes with other models. It's one thing to mix poz and non-poz models, using safer practices and disclosing that to the models and allowing them to make the decision... quite another to lie to the models.

I agree.. and I definatly dont think that is the case either... I dont think all gay porn stars who do bareback are HIV+ Cause im friends with many many many porn stars in the business and I know there good people and I know they would not hurt other people that way! I think that observation is incorrect and a bit harsh but that is my opinion ....... ANYONE WHO WOULD DO THAT TO ANOTHER PERSON IS FUCKED UP ... jIgG you are very wrong with that statement!

Not one performer that we have shot for our bareback site was positive at the time of the shoot. Are any of them positive today? Honestly couldn't tell you...

We have had solo models, and those performing in our non-bareback fuck videos that are negative telling us they have no problem performing bareback with someone who is positive. I personally just don't get that mentality. We have not and will not arrange that type of shoot.

Because, in the "straight" side of the business, everyone gets TESTED!

And, as long as "gay" companies refuse to test their models, this issue will continue until the end of time.

Guess what gay condom producers... condoms don't protect people from contracting STD's from anal/oral, etc...

and as long as "gay" producers allow barebacking on the sets and off camera, as we have witnessed countless times...none of it really matters does it!
