That actually really bothers me. What he does or doesn't do in his personal life is one issue, but shooting a 14 years for commercial purposes is WRONG and can get a lot of people in trouble, not just the photographer.Quote:

It isn't perfect but at least we here are trying to accept reality. Kids have sex, we know it and the responsibility has to lie with the parents and not the court system to deal with over active teenage hormones. Hey, least that was the reason then.
As for the case regarding Dale, there were other charges levied according to the articles, which are supposed to cover those cases such as this one.
Anyhow, just some of the reasoning behind the 14 age limit.
I do not believe Dawgy got into this situation by accident--from what I hear this was Dawgy finally get caught. As a former prosecutor, I know that nobody ever got caught doing something--anything--stealing, drunk driving, lighting fires, or soliciting young boys for sex--the first time they did it [except MAYBE murder].
My question is, "How many times did he do this with young boys and NOT get caught??"
Iowa has a graduated system--where the age of consent is "kind of" 14. If you are 14 or 15 years old, you can have sex with someone who is up to 4 years older than you. If you are 16 or 17, it was up to 6 years older than you. If you are 18, then you are an adult and can sleep with anybody willing.Quote:

My 2 cents... I bet Dawgy was WELL aware that the age of consent in Canada is 14. I bet he planned many trips to Canada for the purpose of sex with minors. This makes him a sexual predator in my mind. I'd be interested in knowing what his travel itinerary was before he got caught.
I disagree that he could have been fooled into thinking the 14yo was 18.
We're talking about someone who hung around guys 10, 12 years younger than himself. Someone who worked extensively with and shot twink porn. Such a person would know exactly what a legit 18yo looks like. An 8th grader just isn't going to pass.
You put a younger looking 18yo up against an older looking 14yo, they still aren't going to match.
I wonder too. I think this is something that should be of concern to Canadians. I wouldn't like my country to become a tourist destination for people looking kids, like Thailand and other countries in the Far East have become.Quote:

I know a few things about the case, but I'm not an expert... I've seen plenty of kids who were 18 that looked younger and plenty of 14 year olds who looked a LOT older.

Dawgy did not get caught by accident or mistake. He was lucky to have made it that long before getting caught diddling little boys. If a few more would come public, Dawgy would have more arrest warrants awaiting him after his release.
It is good that this topic is being discussed. Predators and pedophiles have no place in the adult industry--we should make every effort to exclude known offenders and one way to do that is through public disclosure.
I don't think it matters what the age of consent is in Canada, I believe I read at the time that many, if not most, U.S. jurisdictions have laws in place that prevent citizens from travelling to a foreign country simply to avoid age of consent laws in their own country.
I know with Canadian law, we must adher to our own age of consent laws regardless of where we're travelling.
