Stephen Harper is a trained economist....(Masters degree) which is frankly something that wouldn't be bad for any country. He's pretty conservative, but I do not think that anyone will be able to create a functioning government in Canada while simultaneously exacting the kinds of sweeping social conservative policies his opponents imagine.Quote:

I also would think it would be most helpful for everyone if the US and Canada improved relations. Also, the Economist has written much about Canada's regional areas developing growing estrangement. Obviously people remember Quebec's razor thin referendum to leave the country [hence the Liberal party's subsequent scandel], but people in Alberta aren't feeling the spirit a strong union either. And there is nothing wrong with recognizing the shortcomings of Canada's health care system.
Hey if anything Canada, a country which has been famous for "boring politics," actually seems to have some interesting things going on for once.
