Hmmm, marketing for sites designed for lesbians
Well, you'd certainly wanna take a different approach from the typical porno sites designed for the male market, whether str8, bi, or gay males! Don't think the to-the-point blatant visuals and short direct sexual descriptions we use to entice the already horny males would go over well at all.
I read an article in our local LGBT rag about a "night at the upscale steambath" in town organized by lesbians for only lesbians. Most of the women who attended already knew each other. As is typical of the men, they did not wander the halls hoping to entice some hottie, rest alone in their in their spa rooms in alluring body positions with the door open, or hang out in the video room, ummmm, self-stimulating. Instead, the article said they for-the-most-part just used the club amenities and chatted with each other.
In general, women seem to be more relationship-oriented than men when it comes to sex. Take this joke, for example. "What does a lesbian bring to a second date? 'A U-Haul' What does a gay man bring to a second date? 'A Second Date!'"
So, I'd IMAGINE what would work on sites for lesbians would be dating, interest forums, chatrooms, advice column, stories about relationship intrigue, pictures/movies of "real" women together mostly G-Rated to softcore erotic, articles on issues of interest to lesbians (you name it, music, politics, raising children, social issues, career success...), shopping (but what products?) Hmmm, this would be far less "Adult" (read blatantly sexual) than what we usually have for the gay men.
Seems like there is a lot of potential for more stuff for the lesbian audience/market. I recall that gay dot com has some of these things for lesbians, but it feels mostly male oriented to me. Wish this were my area of interest....
