The question I'm asking myself is why does Verotel even care about releases when nothing in 2257 asks for or even allows releases to be kept with 2257 docs?
Have they declared themselves superior to US law on the matter? Or are they perhaps in hot water for processing for shady sites? Be nice if we could get a straight answer from them.

I experienced difficulties with Verotel a few months back.
After processing for my sleepingmen site for 8 months they said the bank had rejected it. After contacting an inside source there everything got worked out in about a week.
My source also stated that the U.S. government had put pressure on the U.S. visa bank consortium regarding their European arm being lax on processing for "obscene" content. SO the U.S. Visa arm put pressure on the Euro banks that if they didn't shape up they would pull their Visa license.
So now the Euro Visa is being MORE strict then the U.S. Visa consortium.

What you're seeing here is Euro banks not understanding U.S. law and trying to be overly safe to keep their license. I could go into more detail with more knowledge but this should be enough for you to understand.
It is always good to have a backup processor, no matter who you're with. I'm approved at CCBill but I stay with Verotel because I've had great experience with them and I only pay 6.5% in fees, wheras all other processors I'd be paying 11% to 13%.
