What Are House Prices Like Near You?

Yeah really. Plus you live in Florida, and the last time I looked on a map, it was in the South. I don't think Texas would be much too different.

It's very racially diverse. Austin and San Antonio's populations are one in three hispanic. Dallas and Houston have larger black populations.

Actually for real estate investment, Dallas/Ft Worth would probably be one of the best places in the country for affordability and return on investment. A good friend of mine just moved back there, buying a condo in Oak Lawn. He messaged my last night and was saying it was refreshing to live once again in a gay neighborhood. (In Austin, we've always just lived everywhere)

Here at the beach in orange county you're looking at anywhere from $2-10mil with 4bd 2b's on the local islands going for $5-15mil.

Definately Oak Lawn is a great place for investment property. You can still find condos for around 100k, and the prices are going up up up! I used to live in Oaklawn, but I grew tired of the "gayborhood" so I moved into Downtown. Its still close enough to go out, but far enough away, where I don't have to see it everyday!

90210 doesn't fit into the equation - I guess you could find a nice studio/condo for about $650(+) but the new 3 bedroom condos are starting in the mid 3's - now across the line in West Hollywood is a different story - you could get a new 1,200 sq ft condo/townhouse for about $850 - but that's not BH; that's what they call Beverly Hills adjacent.....

Don't move to Dallas unless you want to be miserable. It has the worst combination of everything that makes an area desirable and livable. Unless you like shopping and sitting in your house, don't even consider it. Sure, there are some people that like it here but I certainly can't understand why.

I didn't say I was living and retiring here. I actually plan on leaving here in the near future.. however that being said, Dallas really is a great city, there is something to do for almost everyone. Also, it should be noted, that every city is only what one makes of it. If you set out to hate it and be miserable and sit at home you will. If you want to meet people, hang out and have fun, you will. Its the same whether a city has 1,000 people or 1 million people. Its all what you make of what is around you.

I miss Dallas all the time the clubs, food and standard of living are things you are going to miss if you leave. :(

Dean, I agree up to a point. But my experiences have really soured me on this city. Compared to other places I would like to live, Dallas is filthy, crime-ridden, ugly, traffic-choked and DULL.

And worst of all, people's attitudes are so awful. I've never met so many conceited and image-conscious people anywhere else... except for maybe San Diego. And I can almost see why San Diego residents are so stuck-up. It is probably the most beautiful and perfect place in the US to live... if you can afford it.

Ya I was going to say have you ever been to CA at all man? Or seen how people really live in San Diego, just move into your closet for a few weeks if you want to get a good feel for San Diego

I agree with 2 out of 3 points. Dallas has TONS of restaurant choices. That's probably why Dallas is one of the fattest cities in the U.S. And living here is quite cheap although quickly getting more expensive. I just got an electric bill for February for almost $800!

The clubs... are you talking about the gay bars/clubs? If you like bars where everyone is on drugs and conceited, well then Dallas has a great club scene! :D

Oh I know! San Diego is one of our favorite places for short vacations. But I can't believe the price or real estate compared to Dallas. It's crazy! My little house is worth about 2 million in San Diego. Lol.

How the fuck was your electric bill $800? LOL :haha:

But as far as the bars, s4 isn't the model for being drug free, but I would think that you could probably find Round Up comfortable. I go there usually, there are no stalls to do drugs in, and most people there are friendly. Its all about the scene you find.

I think the U.S. needs to annex Baja California from Mexico so southern California living could be more affordable. ;)

Do you think your electric bill will be any less in Ca man? You know they only have 1 electric company. And yes I like to do a bit of coke from time to time at the clubs, but do not like 15$ drinks or having to pay 20$ for parking, or clubs that close at 1 am
