Both of our dogs eat the dry food too. And they also like to take mouthfuls of food and bring it over to where their daddies are to eat. Our office is in our dining area and all day long, all 4 of us are in the same area. The 2 dog beds are under our desk so they can be close at all times. It's sometimes a little TOO close.Quote:

I don't know about other cats or about dogs, but Bengals are about 1/8 wild Asian leopard and are a lot more muscular than normal housecats, so require a higher protein food. They also have very high metabolisms, and apparently the higher carb food often causes diarrhea. My girls have never had anything but Innova so I don't know how they would handle regular food.
I really don't know other than what I've read, but the Innova food seems to be a much higher quality food than most of the other stuff I've seen. It is relatively widely distributed, but you can't get it in discount stores, chain pet stores, or grocery places... you have to go to a feed supply or a specialty supplier. It's not cheap (15 pound bag is about $24) but I don't think it's really much more expensive than other premium foods.
The other one that came recommended by the breeder for non-Bengals is Royal Canin, and that is available in many formulas and is carried by the major pet chains.

Presently my cat eats canned low magnesium sophisticat, which I don't think falls under the gravy and bits heading.
It's interesting that this whole story could be summed up as all these companies partnering with the wrong affiliate for their cheap cat food business. Which in the end hurts their reputation.
I'm so happy that I feed my dog all natural dog food.

We lost our baby last July. She was getting older, but never sick a day in her life. Food was her life!! One day she just stopped eating and had all of those symptoms that they are telling us about now.
She did eat that wet food that is bad now.
One wonders how long this has really been going on!!!:angry:
Ever since I had a dog that was continuously plagued by the farts with wet foods, every subsequent pet was raised on dry thankfully.
Thank g-d my boys only eat dry, i never got them on wet, but this is scary stuff.

I guess I'm lucky when it comes to dog food, my little yoyo has to eat speical dog food from the vet. prescription dog food
What's so frustrating is to see this company making economy and premium brands of pet food. It really makes you wonder if it's coming from the same vat. Are we really paying for better pet food when we buy a Science Diet or IAMS, or are we just paying for a better marketing campaign than let's say "Special Kitty."

as i understand it, they make each food according to the recipe from the company it's made for but using batch ingredients when they are the same.
