The only thing i agree with you is about Blake not singing well. As far as his face goes, eewww! And about Kelly Clarkson, i actually think the girl can sing her heart out, and i also find her attractive.

It's all about retarted people voting. AI/presidential... same thing. Not a big surprise anymore.

However, the show is called "American Idol", not "American best vocalist"

People vote on the person that they can best idolize with, not just someone with a pretty voice that is going to end up on the radio anyways someday. Melinda has an amazing voice, and is definitely the best singer, but I don't think she has the best capacity for "idol" material. The whole innocent turtle thing going on...

I was so turned off by the very first season (and that HORRIBLE "Up with People," stupid '50s and '60s music shit that sounded like I was watching a junior high school recital) that I've never become a fan. I follow what goes on and who all the contestants are, because as an entertainment journalist, it's my job to know who these folks are, but I don't watch. I've watched 3 episodes in my life, and all three times they voted off the people I thought should have won, so I just got so pissed that I didn't continue. That's the problem with America. Americans rarely appreciate true talent. They vote for pretty faces and riff-raff who sing formulaic crap that we've heard a thousand times before.
