Anyway.
Halford is FINE.
Just a short-lived bug.. gave him the runs and a fever and made him quite lethargic. But he's full of energy today.

Having a sick dog is horrible, although I hugged him extra tight last night in bed.
I'm kinda looking forward to getting him back in bed again to night so I can hug him again.

god, where does that leave me - dear "dead" Tony.... who will carry on when I'm gone?
glad about the pooch - next time, take him to Dr. Winters... and tell him that "Tony" sent ya...

We take our dogs to a place in West Hollywood. They're great with them and our vet looks like Kate Pierson.Quote:

We had 2 very sick dogs a while back. During a recent vacation, we boarded them at the 'high-end' Pet Hotel at Petsmart. WHAT A HUGE MISTAKE!
Our 2 dogs shared a 'suite' at over $100 per day which included playtime and walks. We brought along their own beds, toys and treats so they would be reminded of home. The dogs had to have all of their immunizations up to date before they would be allowed to stay. And the place looked very clean and nice.
Normally we would have a pet sitter come to visit them at our home twice a day but she wasn't available at the time. And they have a doggie door at home so they can go 'potty' anytime they wish.
When I went to pick them up at the Pet Hotel, they looked MISERABLE. Their eyes had that dead look... like they had given up on life. They barely greeted me, almost like they didn't know who I was. And their food dish was filled with the rich, unhealthy treats we brought. They were instructed to only give them a few treats a day. AND the water dish was empty!
And once we got them home, I noticed that they were both soaked in dried urine from head to toe as were their doggie beds. And they both had terrible coughs. Apparently they both had Kennel Cough, which they had been immunized before their stay at the hotel. Kennel Cough isn't a serious illness and usually goes away on it's own. But our poor dogs had to be on antibiotics for 2 weeks and they still have some symptoms 2 months later.
They also have other ailments that didn't exist before their stay at motel hell. Boney, who's 17, can't get around nearly as well and his sight and hearing are much worse than before. Petie, the monster Chiahuaua, is suffering from frequent reverse-sneezing fits which have increased dramatically since his stay. And now their separation anxiety has reached a fever-pitch. The guilt trip they lay on us when we leave the house for only an hour is heart-breaking.

We had a similar experience to you with boarding Liquorice a few years ago, now she stays at a place in the enxt town over from us and she comes back so full of energy its unreal.
Even the veterinary place we use wont let her stay there because she was so enegetic the last time she tired out all the staff thats why we had to find a new place after our original place made her come back with blood in her urine and all lathargic looking :(
