thanks - sounds interesting. i downloaded the trial and it didn't come with a manual. since there's no file or other tabs on the top of the program, this could be a challenge.

Which trial did you download?
the only one they offered - both trial links seem to lead to the same trial.
although it does seem to be quite fast, it doesn't have a way to minimize it, so i can't work while it renders. also can't find a way to encode into more than one format at a time, and so far the videos i encoded are coming up at a lower bitrate than i specified.
Hmmm...I minimize it. Without going back to the site, are you using the mac version? The mac version has a full handbook with it in the sample.
Alex, I think Patty is talking about the PC trial program.
Ah, okay. Odd that the two OS would have such different trials. The mac one is fully loaded (except for the 20 second limit on compressions).
Patti - the manual for the VT3 is kinda hidden - http://www.vt3studio.com/downloads/VT3HELP.pdf
thanks, ccjax.
alex, the pc version is like encoding for dummies :D i've only once seen such a stripped down program.
unfortunately support got back to me and said you can only encode in 1 format per speed at a time... but on the upside, support is fast responding to emails. it will do and ftp an entire folder of videos in 3 sizes - each size can be a different format or can be the same format, but you can't encode in 2 formats per size.
On the mac version I have been able to encode WMV and MOV in all three speeds and sizes as a batch. If I can get the watermark feature to work, then it is a winner as far as I am concerned.
Mostly I am excited about a six day FCP class I am attending in October. A week of class and the the GAYVN Retreat...man oh man October is gonna get GREAT!
