I'm so glad other people were guinea pigs with that thing.
There are several applications available for Intel Macs to run Windows programs. I use Parallels Desktop.
You install Parallels Desktop on your Intel Mac, then install XP. I have two programs at the Windows level that I do not have for Mac: Quicken 2008, and an old Eudora Inbox that I could not migrate to any of my Macs.
So I run both on my iMac under Parallels Desktop.
As for Quicken: Quicken for Windows operates a bit different than Quicken for Mac, especially differences in the feature where Quicken automatically checks all of your online bank balances and downloads transactions.
The other thing I've learned through Quicken sucks websites is that Quicken charges a fee to Banks to allow customers to contact and download thru Quicken auto updates! Turns out that fee is for Windows Quicken, and most Banks don't pay the separate fee for Mac Quicken!
