fwiw, I've found that rarely is the "most advertised brand" the best choice... I mean, those superbowl ads have to be paid for from somewhere.
Enom doesn't have the annoying upsells, and so far, at least, has had great customer service. I'm sure there are other excellent registrars as well, but I've chosen to stick with them because they have the combination of size (a reasonable measure of stability, I guess) and service.
