I think teh best way to organise drinkies is exactly what Pistol said....

Meetup on Friday night on the Gold Coast. There willa lready be a shitload of you there and no one needs to travel unnecesarily if that makes sense, as everyone has already travelled to one destination. I am guessing there would be other groups all meeting up the night before the conference as well.. so it might be th best way to go!

This is awesome guys - I'm really looking forward to it. Should we book a private, serviced room, just congregate in a bar in Jupiters OR maybe go to one of the gay hang-outs in Surfers for the evening? I'm not sure of the lay of the gay land up there - what do ya'll think?

Hey all - The "Meeting Place" in the middle of Surfer's used to be a nice little bar for the boys, but I haven;t travelled in those circles on the coast for some time, so let me do some research and get back to you!

Allan's idea of meeting somewhere "vanilla" to start with may be a good idea, hey we can all kick on to wherever later on anyways - but on a Friday night, Jupiters is crush city IMHO an dwe would struggle to be able to find somewhere to sit us down if more than 10 of us turn up, let alone be able to have a good chat.

Allan's on the right tram I believe, but has anyone got any other venue ideas?

BTW - I may not be able to make the Staurday or Sunday (won;t know until the week before unfrotunately), but the Friday night should be no probs at all!

If it is just drinks we could all meet at Jupiers but if it is too busy maybe I can arrange something at the convention centre for the night before the convention? But you guys will need to let me know so I can sort something out....

Ok thought this was the most appropriate thread for me to say "hello" in!

Met up with some excellent people at the Aussie convention and am looking forward to getting to know everyone a lot more!

We had a great night out with curioustoyboy and meeting up with Allan who was a dream boat... so it was all good!
