Does This Site Need To Be Wider You Think?

On my iMac20, with Safari, browser taking up about 2/3s width of screen, screen display 1280px:

* The green borders are less wide than GWW's, maybe about 15% each, closer to the CNN.com comparison.

* The orange background of the separators is OK, but box at the bottom is hard to read on orange (serif font, smaller font size, quantity of text - the mixed in lines in sans serif are easier to read than lines in serif).

So that is how a iMac sees this site in comparison.
