If I were a new brand these days I would focus on building my digital and membership sales and not waste my resources on packaged media. That is my honest opinion based on years of successfully running an adult business. That’s all, it’s my opinion. LOL, I am not trying to keep others out of the packaged media business! I was trying to give my honest opinion. You can take or leave it, but you don't need to get bitchy and go into attack mode.
If I were a car company I wouldn’t tell another new car company to get into the traditional gas fueled car market at this time. I’d advise them to skip over that entirely and focus on building hybrid or electric cars. Is there still years of money and sales of gas fueled car left, absolutely! Is it a good business decision to try and get into that market at this time, hell no. Same thing with DVD, its old technology and is going away and the barrier to entry into the existing market is too expensive and competitive. Again, that’s just my opinion…
You want the solution to piracy, you’ve got it….get a lawyer! There is no magic secret or not allowing you into our secret organization. Get a lawyer, send take down notices and sue people stealing your content….that’s it. Now you have the magic secret and you can do it yourself. You are more than welcome to head your own group and get other companies and studios to work with you on anti-piracy project. In fact I encourage you to be the leader and spearhead just such a group.
We were the “little” guys once as well, so don’t go off on me just because you are frustrated. When we got into the business Falcon had us blocked and banned from all the major distributors. Falcon and all the other big guys never helped us, hell they did all they could to block us and thwart our business. So, trust me I know what it’s like being the little guy. It’s easy to bash the “big” guys, but you might learn a thing or two from them if you listen carefully and don’t take things so personally. Lighten up….
