We have actually had the same problem. When we film we generally have 6-9 guys here at once from all over. We usually get two hotel suites. We've found that all hotels look the same. We don't like filming in other locations. So we built backdrops out of wood bought from Lowes and Home Depot. Painted them, even hung mirrors on them. And for the couch and furniture, you can buy furniture covers in different colors, so we did that. And came out pretty good. The "set" we built, we put hinges on them so that it folds up pretty easily.
The last shoot was in a bedroom. We even made a window and put it on it, put curtains over it.
We built a complete set for about $300.00 the best thing about it is you can change it whenever you want. We got cinder blocks to hold it up. Never had a problem and did this many different times.

We had one model who was particularly voyeuristic, and wanted to do something crazy, so we shot a scene with him at this old office that had once been a radio station.
The stairs where we shot it was directly across and facing (100' away) an entrance ramp to a freeway. Any cars coming around the entrance ramp could, if they happened to glance off the side, see our boy whacking it.
But I also knew that if a police officer happened to notice, it would take him a good 10 minutes (because of where the location was situated) to get on the freeway, off the next exit, double back, take side streets, and find the entrance to the place we were at, and *then* he'd still have to walk about 5 minutes to get to us.
So we got the scene, the model said it was one of the most intense jerk-offs he'd ever done, and everyone was happy :)

Derek, are you saying that you build your sets and take these to hotel rooms? Don't the employees wonder why you're bringing in all the stuff? Or do you use these in your studio only?

you could rent a cabin cruiser and shoot in the room and on deck.
