True, but there's also a bill having to do with property taxes before the Senate as well. It's heavily opposed by landlords. There's also an education bill that Mayor Bloomburg of NYC needs passed to do some revisions of the city's school system.
Moral of the story: there are more controversial bills than just gay marriage before the Senate. Gay marriage is the "sexiest" and clearly has the most public interest, but it's not the only issue at hand.
Either way, we're getting a bit off-track of from the March on Washington. My fault, as I posted that... well, let's call it a "historical treatise" on the NY Senate split. :)
