I think it was a good show - I enjoyed the venue very much, and it wasn't really that far away from things... a lot of people went into Old Town for some killer Mexican food (5 minutes - GIANT margaritas!), many went down to the historic Gas Lamp Quarter for jazz clubs and sight-seeing (10 minutes, downtown area), and a lot of people rented boats on the marina (just steps from the hotel) and enjoyed some local seafood (little seafood shack next to the hotel).
The only thing I didn't like was the fact that I was still on crutches for the torn ligament in my knee... I missed seeing lots of people (Rainey!) because of it. Finally we just sat down on Friday night at a table near the pool and were soon surrounded by people. It was great. I should have done that on Wednesday - it worked better than gimping around the place looking for people all week. lol
Cybernet Expo has really evolved... they tried some new things this time around - and I think many of them really worked. I liked the idea of the networking room right off from the seminar hall - great idea. My only suggestion would be to try & get a location that allowed for the seminar hall to empty OUT INTO the expo/networking hall and get that attendee traffic in the room, even if they are just using it as an "exit" it would give speakers/exhibitors a better chance to talk with folks and answer questions. That would have been fantastic!
City Location - excellent
Hotel - OK, heard some complaints about service but we were happy
Seminars - good mix of topics, new speakers from usual suspects
Parties - didn't attend many either, but heard good things about all
Networking - Cybernet ALWAYS kicks ass in this department, it's a great number of attendees (not too many, not too few) and provided many oopportunities to meet new people and chat up old friends
Cybernet Staff - very helpful at making sure all needs were met
Side Note...
GA/Lee - we HAVE to arrange something back at Mizuno's again for Vegas... you spoiled me with that first dinner, and now I need more than a mere 10 minutes of your time. We should get the original crew together again... that was an excellent evening! Let's make plans after the summer show so there's NO EXCUSES! ;)
