That's where the merger idea hits a brick wall. Discussion forums have a 50/50 chance of creating sides, and depending on one's upbringing in the ways of American vs European Democracy, or the Psychology of group dynamics, an admin or moderator can learn to coexist, and be a good gatekeeper, or be like Putin, or any mediaeval role play model, and kill, virtually, its enemies. real or illusional.

if a separatist is going to create a discussion forum, then hand pick who can discuss, the economic value of the forum becomes limited due to blue blood inbreeding.

Every enemy an admin bans is one (dozens?) less click-through for the forum's advertisers, and one (dozens?) less potential sell or buy deal with other members.

There's two parts to networking on boards: the ego part of the posts in threads, and the financial part of the buy/sell deals.

Which pays the bills?

Oh wow yeah I don't see things like that at all.

These days keeping ANY adult board operational is for love of the industry/people not for making a profit. You can't deny that people like Bec & Bjorn are dedicated to the industry and have invested time/money in making things better for us all. Bjorn has put up with a lot of flak from people, had to mediate drama online and keep his own business afloat. Not for the faint of heart. Also, Bjorn and I aren't enemies.

We all have so much more in common than not. Focusing on our passion and what pays the bills is more important than damaging egos yapping over the small stuff. Having fun, making new alliances & learning along the way is just icing on the cake :thumbup1:

Just an update ... I did write both Jay and Lloyd and waiting for some sort of response. At the very least I am trying to get content producers their own forum area like we have for mainstream, buy and sell, etc.
