I recently overheard a "woman moaning" ringtone on a cellphone in a public place and was quite amused. So I expect the trend will progress to other similar content such as adult visual delights on phones eventually.

Thing is that you know it's just a matter of time before some uptight Christian over hears a "moan tone" and calls the cops, arresting the cell phone owner for exposing her to obscenity.

America, especially, has been over-taken by uptight Christians who are offended by everything that moves. Cell phone porn is just a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Still images.. sure.. sounds? No way.

It's huge in Europe and Asia. In this regard, the U.S. market is way behind.

I agree the US is regressing backward in some ways thanks in part to the Christian right wing influences and control. It is embarrassing. It is also very frustrating for me who wants to experience our culture progress and evolve.

As for cell phones, I am appalled at the growing lack of respect some users have though in public places such as movie theatres. It so distracting to hear cell phones ring and people converse on them at inappropriate social events such as weddings and funerals too.

I hope the rest of world knows and applies more considerate cell phone etiquette than so many Americans.

Well... I'd love to say it's different up here.. but sadly no, it's horrendous here... and the further out into the suburbs you get, the worst the people are.

Cell Phones make my blood boil....

I have one, but i go out of my way to NEVER be seen with it.

I almost went ape-shit all over a girl who was sitting two seats away from me in a theatre last week. She touched her cell phone every five minutes so it lit up and she could see if anyone had left her a message while she was out watch a movie.

I restrained myself because I figured if she told me to mind my own business or something, we would have had a scene.

Maybe we actually need more scenes so people with cell phones will figure out how to behave.

Why do people feel the need to talk on their cellphones all of the time. I just don't have that much to say to anyone! I don't even talk to anyone on my home phone, lol.

Oh man.. what I hate about winter so much is that I have to take the streetcar to work, and I ALWAYS end up sitting in front of some bleach-blonde girl, yammering away on her cell phone in a really loud voice about shit that NOBODY cares about.

stuff like what she had for dinner last night or something that her father said to her or something that her boyfriend did last week at some club. Or how to get to the Mall. Or she'll give away the endings of movies.. There's no way to tune them out.. they YELL into their phones so people can hear them 20 feet away.

I think that everyone should be given amnesty for taking a cell phone and shoving it down the throat of one person every six months.. like a get out of jail free card.
