I think this was the third time I asked basschick to share her knowledge of creating succesfull TGP galleries and to showcase one of her own so that we can "compare notes":), but never received a reply.....
every time i post a gallery url, i have tgp webmasters from all over telling me that people are using my gallery layout.
magnatique's gallery making guide
my gallery tips
might want to keep in mind that small thumbs, dark thumbs, blurry thumbs, or thumbs which stand out unpleasantly in any other way, don't make good sales. i see a lot of galleries for review in other places, and it's shocking how people think that you can make a gallery with terrible pics and awful thumbs, and that this will make your surfers want to join your sponsor.
if you're selling a cadillac, you don't give your potential buyer a broken down vw to test drive. so always make your pics and thumbs look pretty good, and never boring.
exactly. Ive had my shit stolen so many times.Quote:

That's bad for business. We have to eat too and its not fair for us to spend weeks making and tweaking layouts, only to just give it to someone for free.
Your suggestions in the previous posts couldn't be clearer, and anyone should be able to read them and figure out their own layout.
Or just hire a gallery template designer, there are dozens out there.
Your tips are excellent. You obviously know what youre doing. Wish I had them when I was starting, instead of learning on my own the hard way lol.

Just because you disagree with my first post doesnt mean you should write a rude response to me about it.
"What is this thread about?" It looks to me like youre getting a lot of help from it.
Last month with my top sponsor I did 83 sales with less than 5k of tgp traffic. Thats 1:60. This month I'm 1:29 on tgp traffic only.
You posted in the past that you've send thousands of hits of tgp traffic and got "zilch".
Maybe if you actually read and followed what people are saying instead of getting upset when people don't do it for you, youd have better luck.
Marc - are you filtering your traffic through a hub or a fpa? that is a nice ratio. mine is generally between 1:200 and 1:800.
Not filtered through an fpa, unless the sponsor isn't counting first page clicks.Quote:

Overall last month Im 1:241, but with that top sponsor I do a lot better.
I just found the right combination of sponsor and ad layout and text, that only comes from slaving away making layouts, submitting, tweaking, doing it again, trying new sponsors, different content, different text, lol.
Its so much work but its worth it in the end.
So far this year Ive been under 1:300 every month, but in past years I've had 1:5000 months. I dont throw my arms up and say "tgps sucks" and quit, I just keep trying and try to learn from it, figuring out what Im doing wrong. How to make it better.
Of course now I look at my earlier tgp gallery layouts and get embarassed looking at them and say What was I THINKING?!?!
haha
btw most of that was directed to the people who moan about tgps, not to you, lol. Just telling my side of the tgp story to the people who think theyre crap.
i SO much know the feeling. i was looking at some galleries i made in 2000 that i remember thinking were masterpieces *cringe* i actually got embarrassed by looking at them.
the funny thing is i still see worse galleries than those all the time....
