Do You Know Any Straight Webmasters Who Work The Gay Market?

wow...guess i missed a lot. ok, here goes...

i've always been the "token fag" at whatever company i was working for. most of you know what that means, for those who don't, message me and i'll be happy to explain.

however, i always felt valued and appreciated. in the same way, i appreciate the effort that my str8 collegues have put forth to educate themselves in the gay market so as GA so eloquently put it not to "put out a piece of crap and call it gay."

In Phoenix a couple of weeks ago I had a webmaster I'd met on several occasions and know fairly well ask me:
"So what do you do at these things? Get bored and run around chasing girls?"
"Chasing girls?" I responded.
"You're straight, right?" he asked.

:wtf:

No wonder I never get any action at these things! (oh shush, that's my excuse and I'm stickin' to it)

3 more times that same night I got asked the same thing. "For a straight guy you sure are comfortable around all these gay webmasters." "So... are you straight or what?" "K don't be offended if I ask this but are you straight?"

And these were people I have a close working relationship with. So despite their thinking all along that I was straight, it never interfered with how we interacted both professionally and personally.

For future reference, though, if you find yourself at any of these webmaster conventions or parties talking to a twink and you notice me in the room, please point out to said twink that I am, in fact, gay. And available.

I don't do a lot of gay stuff since I'm straight, only stuff that I do without actually having to use too much of the content.. like PPC & stuff, but if I were too I definately would look for the info here as it seems this is the place to be for people that need great info on promoting the gay niche.

I've met Brian and he's totally a cutie. There was a time when I was constantly following his posts on several boards and I was afraid he would think I was stalking him. LOL! But, alas, he's just not my type.

I can think of a few on this board who are... (hee hee).

But in response to your post about being mistaken as straight, I have a very good friend who is straight, and she hangs around with a lot of the gay, male, leather crowd here in LA. And everyone, I mean everyone, thinks she's a lesbian. We always laugh about it because the guys keep offering to set her up with girls they know, or they'll just ask her about lesbian stuff. I guess it comes with the territory. LOL! But your post reminded me of that.

I learned something new today...
someone I totally thought was 100% gay...
and I discovered from his own little mouth - that he is Bi...
(and here I was picturing him totally gay - which was a hot hot
hot image... and now I discover he's not TOTALLY gay... grrrrr)


I haven't read this thread at all yet...
