No, I offered to FTP them or have them outsourced to a friend of mine in Ithaca, NY who could have processed and delivered them much, much faster than I could have by burning them to DVD (since 12clicks is in Medford, NJ and the content would reach him from Ithaca quicker than from San Diego).

I honestly had not thought about putting them on another hard drive and sending it. That would have solved SOOOO much time and relieved SOOOO many problems had I thought of it. Where were you 3 weeks ago? :-P

this is the exchange over outsourcing. this had nothing to do with burning them to DVD.

I am not going to sit here and debate this with you all over again today. You copy and paste conversations at your leisure, omitting very important details in order to make yourself look more favorable. I mentioned outsourcing, you declined it in favor of having me encode the video from Mini-DV to DVD, regardless of my warning that it would take longer. I never once said that I could not deliver the content. That is an assumption you created when I told you that I was having difficult with freezing at the exporting of the files to Mini-DV. I always, always deliver on content and my reputation for doing so efficiently with the best quality remains intact to my current clients (Pride Studios, ICP, EENT, BluMedia & D&E productions). Sure, sometimes problems arise with content delivery (such as a bad tape or cd that did not burn properly), to which I promptly address and correct the issue, as I tried to do with you. However, with your irrational behavior and penchant for "flying off the handle" over a simple, correctable issue, I found it very difficult to appease you. Honestly, had I even thought of the option of getting a hard drive in order to store all of these files to send to you, I would have. Each video file is at least 4 gigs or over. That's a lot of video to convert and burn. By your own admission in one of our discussions, you do not know much about the video editing aspect of this business, so I do not expect you to understand. DonMike and Chip have both pointed out the difficulty and consumption of time in putting your order on DVD, but you do not seem to comprehend it.

Today I am much calmer than I was yesterday, and I want all parties to be satisfied. Having said that, I still do not wish to do business with you and your refund is en route.
As for what to do with the content, I will simply use these DVD's as back-up in case I need to use them again, so at least something positive came of this experience.

I wish nothing but the best in business for you and if we ever meet at a convention, I will introduce myself and shake your hand, and hopefully this entire episode can be put behind us and we can both move on in our respective business ventures.

However, you have face to save here so I'll let you save it.
after you had my money, you admitted that you could not send me mini dv because you were having trouble doing it.

I shouted out for content people. you replied. if you're going to pretend to be a content provider, you should make sure you can provide it. not take my money and then *discover* that you can't transfer to mini dv.

Under those circumstances, asking for my money back is not irrational or "flying off the handle"

So was 12clicks willing to accept mini-DV's or not?

If he was, then this all goes back to the computer fuckup a month ago.

If he wasn't, a HDD should have been sent. Everybody knows this is common. The FTP sugesstion was rediculous, and the outsourcing had to involve FTP also so that guy could get them on mini-dv. Has anyone ever sent like 100 gigs over FTP? And who is paying for this outsourcing?

the reason i thought of it is that all the content providers i've worked with have always sent me harddrives. it's very efficient and allows for larger videos. at one point i had 5 harddrives from tony and cam going back and forth here, and when one guy i encoded for was working with photogregg, i always had one harddrive on the way, one in the mail back to him and one here getting worked on.

could you do the the same thing with a larger capacity scan disk ? Just askin'

The outsourcing was through a personal friend who would have done it as a favor to me. I would not have FTP'd him the files, but sent him the Mini-DV's instead. He did the same thing for me many years ago when I wanted to pull all of my Hi-8 video content from the tapes after I switched to Mini-DV. 12clicks did not want the Mini-DV's, which is how this all started.

I honestly did not think of a hard drive for the solution to the problem. If i had, this all would have been avoided.

Nope. My shoots for the early part of the week were canceled. I am free all day today and can be at the post office as soon as it opens. My dead grandmother isn't very appealing, but if that's your niche...
