Well darn, I was kinda hopin you folks would do a newbie blog trial to prove me wrong

Yes, I know there are flaws with that blog, I just reconstructed it after losing the old name, and the new theme put the old page experiments back into a highly visible spot. Those pages weren't intended to be seen, just old messing around from back in 2006.

I'm still in the process of fixing it back up. I haven't had time to figure out why this theme's css covers some of the titles, for instance. But I redid some pages - I rather like having prominent pages that deliver some fhgs and will add a few other niches in that pages bar across the top in the course of time.

Because it's a newly installed theme I haven't re-added the blocking metas to the header yet - something on my list of things to do. However, I don't plan on using rta. In theory, html contains all the official metas one needs for blocking software and browser setting, a third party isn't necessary.

When I started the blog there were no lists that were listing blogs, Bec. I'm still not entirely certain those are terribly useful links to have. Perhaps I'll add a few, but not many, to this older blog.

However, that certainly seems like a testable idea for a newbie demo blog trial.

I've asked a few times, about this newbie blog question, "where does the traffic come from?", execting someone to say something like "well at first it comes from lists, much like a free site, with some amount coming from the syndicators. Then you start to get long tail traffic from google.".

There are too many other points suggested to effectively respond to in a readable post, so I'll pause here for the moment.

Yeah, those trades are old, from shelmals old board, I have to review them. If they are still in existence I'll keep them tho. I don't drop trades once made.

I plan on leaving the hello world there, as an artifact. It reminds me the blog was lost and remade. I'm funny that way.

I need to review the css to figure out what is cutting off the titles. That reworking of the css will include better spacing and color of the text as well. I didn't create the theme, so that spacing isn't my idea.

It could well be the selling on this blog isn't effective. It was started as an experiment, and written more as a culture blog. And I don't really plan on changing that much. I plan on keping this much as it is, and running a few experiments on new blogs.

The not showing dick part was part of the themeing decisions I made about the blog back in the day - tho possibly it does affect sales. Interesting male bodies without dickage can pull interest too. I have another blog which was/is more explicit. This blog used to have a line of thumbnails and textlinks in the sidebar which were explicit (the thumbs) and intended to satisfy the desire for hardcore.

I do however rewrite the sponsor text and titles, generally.

All of those critiques are interesting and can certainly be applied to a newbie blog trial experiment.

Thanks, Bec. Yes, I have hosting as well. Went to your excellent site a couple of times last week and there is just so much to learn that it was hard to figure out what would be the next (or first step). Next week I have a few days set aside for working on the blog and I will start with Wordpress installation, find some templates and play around a bit. :)

Ah yea ...most of my posts aren't really geared at the totally new blogger, there's an assumption that you do have a clue already, although I reckon you'll get some good information regardless.
