Looks like there's a revolution in the New Aristocracy.
This is one point that I want to address.
As it relates to blacklists, there is in my opinion a huge difference. In my decision to remove Damian from the blacklist I took one thing into consideration. The contract that you have with Damian or whoever else you sell your content to. I nor anyone else on this board knows what your contract says. I don't feel that it is the goal of a board to mediate disputes between a content provider and the program.
As it relates to affiliate programs and payments the contract is public. It is the TOS. If a company says in the TOS that they pay twice a month and 30 affiliates say they haven't gotten paid in 3 months then it's pretty damn clear the program isn't paying and deserves to be on a blacklist. I can see the "contract" between the program and the affiliates. And yes, I do check. There are some programs that have a six week hold before they make their first payments to affiliates and affiliates not aware of that do complain that they haven't gotten paid their first check and it's been three weeks. Not going to put that program on a blacklist.
I have never seen your contract with Damian or any other program you sell content to for that matter, nor do i want to. We deal with many content producers and have different contracts with some of them with different terms. How can a board possibly mediate that when they don't even know what the contract says? Our contract with producer XYZ could very well be different than producer ZYX. Damian may or may not have different contracts with different producers. Not this board's business to know that. Nor is it really anyone else business to know the details of our contracts with our producers and the price we pay for content and on what terms. Sorry.
It seems like you had an issue and you felt emails didn't get answered to a problem you had. If we blacklisted sponsors for not answering emails there would be none left to market. As for the contract and non payment issues, it can't be the goal of a webmaster board to mediate between a content producer and a program owner on a contract that we have never seen nor have any desire to see as this is not a court of law.
As for Nick sending a spindle of DVDs and not getting them back. Don't even get me started...
I apologize that this got way out of hand. My initial thought was to get more current contact information which never did materialize during this thread.
I never intended this board to mediate at all. I was asking for the experience of other studios.
For that I apologize.
