I'm glad that you've been following my threads cj. It doesn't matter too much to me whether you agree with my views or not. Because other people's views are being expressed as well, including yours - so some sort of debate is going on. If there was no interest in the subject then they, and you wouldn't have bothered contributing would they?

Also you don't know enough about me to seriously imply I am being disrespectful to the victims of abuse. Am I not showing some concern - even if it is misplaced? I hope you are not seriously implying that I am disrespectful. I would hate to think I am.

George Bush's "concern" with regard to the Iraqi people is very misplaced & poorly judged in my view - I think that is at least is something you and I may find some agreement on.

Yes I am a woman who enjoys watching gay male sex. Its part of my ultimate sexual fantasy to get personal. I also happen to be a woman who is an author of Gay Male Erotica, which is why I joined this board. I've read many articles on arrousal and how it affects people thanks to my school work. In my opinion, many aspects of what is deamed "arousal" depends on a variety of factors ranging from person experience to culture. It can depend on how you were raised, what your religion is, and your personal views on pornagraphy or sexuality as a whole.

I believe that men who act in gay porn and claim to be straight are telling the truth. What you think gay is may not be gay to them. If you read prison interviews, many prisoners who have had sex with other prisoners do not consider themselves gay nor to they feel aroused by the idea outside of prison. Its just a part of the situation. I know its a far cry from the pornography actor but still, these men go on to lead very straight lives, even continuing marriages they had before.

Also, Viagra plays a very big role now in pornography. So they don't have to be aroused by the act itself. As one actor said, "A stiff breeze across your crotch and your at full mast." And most men I know will say a good blow job is just that, a good blow job - no matter who's doing it.

But there's my opinion.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion of course. No 2 people in the world have entirely the same view point on everything.

However if we try and keep it simple:
Basic definitions (forget the "love" aspect for a moment)
Straight = heterosexual = sex between men and a women.
Gay = homosexual = sex between men & men or sex between women & women.
Bi = bisexual = a person who sometimes has straight sex & other times has gay sex.

If you were explaining these words to a child would you want to make it any more complicated than that?

I accept that some men (apparently many) in gay porn think of themselves as straight and tell the world they are. But people lie to other people all the time and they lie to themselves as well. That's my take on it any way. Also from what I've found so far women who act bi in porn seem to be a lot happy to admit they are bi than these "straight" guys we've been talking about.

Perhaps if there was more media focus and discussion about women enjoying "gay men" then it might help some of these gay for pay guys to be a bit more honest with themselves.

Next stop is to go to a forum where all the men & women admit their bisexuality and see what their take on all this is.

Well we aren't exactly children here (save for a few mentalities). So a simplified version of the sexualities is a little silly for this discussion, at least to me. We are talking about an industry that sells sex, nothing is really simple. There are people who act in BDSM shots and are not into the lifestyle. Just because you can act it does not mean you are. If you ask most of the actors or actresses they all have their "dos and don'ts". But very few of these, if any, involve gender. They see it as it is, just another shot.

While I understand you have your own opinion on this you seem to refute everything that most people have said here. You do realize that there are some bisexuals here. Why not get their opinion? Or do as you said and go to a board where bisexuals post often and hope they are all telling the truth and not living out a fantasy from the safety of the internet. You said so yourself that people lie to others all the time, which I think is a rather cynical view of the world. Most people lie because they fear retribution. Why would they fear retribution if they work in pornography. Doesn't really seem to effect their work.

You asked about more media coverage about women enjoying gay sex and how its not in the media. That my dear, is only because this is America. I got my start in Gay Erotica from writing fanfictions called "yaoi". This is a term that means "gay male erotica writen by women for women." It is an entire world of its own. You can do some research on it yourself, its quite lovely.

As for whether or not I care if the men are straight or gay, I really don't care what they are off screen. I'm interested in what I'm watching on the screen. If they are acting gay in that shot, I see two gay men having sex. If I saw him later in a straight shot, I see a man and a a woman having sex. I don't really put too much thought into it.

And yes, I know that not all prisoners have sex with each other but it is a common practice in prisons who hold prisoners with longer sentences. Please don't patronize me, you may not mean to sound like it but you are acting as if you think I'm a moron. And I don't appriciate it.

Did you read where I describe myself as bisexual with a bias? That means to me that I regard myself as broadly bisexual. I tend to prefer women, but not invariably. Also I'm not in America. I'm in the UK. Over here I'd say it is currently "fashionable" for women to be bi & straight guys to look kinda "gay". Have you heard the term metrosexual?

Sana Chan, thank you for introducing me to a niche - yaoi! I had never heard it called this term before, thanks ;-)

Lez: Yes, yaoi is Asian in origin. It mostly centers around manga (or Japanese comics) but it can move directly into movies, anime, and books. There is a convention every year in San Fran. (gee wonder why). Its a wonderful niche in my opinion and can be very fun if you have a few favorite characters.

We shoot 100% of our content, and all of our guys are 18-23 and generally under 21.

What I've found in that crowd surprises me. The majority of guys on our site are gay. When we started the site, it was closer to 50/50, but for whatever reason (reputation, recruiting, whatever), we've been seeming to attract more gay guys.

HOWEVER we also find that a lot of the guys that come to us aren't gay when they come to us the first time. They're experimenting or questioning, or sometimes they are trying to accept that they're gay. And a lot of the guys that have worked with us have said that the process of doing adult work and feeling empowered and being affirmed by our crew as well as the positive comments they get from their fans sort of helped them in the process of coming out.

A handful have also used it as a vehicle that's helped them overcome childhood sexual abuse issues... several guys have told me, after doing a couple of shoots with us, that being in a video where they have complete control over a sexual situation, where *they* are choosing how and where to share themselves is very healing. (We work with and encourage the models to do what comes naturally, and make gentle suggestions to move things along, and this seems to work really well in capturing the natural beauty of the model.)

I do think there's a generational thing and guys (and presumably girls) who are turning 18 have a lot less stigma and a lot more comfort about their sexuality than their parents' generation did. Talking about masturbating, something that kids rarely did when I was young, seems almost as natural to them as discussing the weather... and these aren't people that have been in the adult industry. And nudity is also something the younger crowd seems to find less disquieting or uncomfortable; after a recent 5 way shoot, most of the models were hanging around for an hour or two before they finally got around to putting clothes back on. Not so (for the most part) with the older crowd.

Sana & cj. I'm so glad cj that sana has introduced you to something new that you like & please don't bang your head against any walls on my account.

I have been doing a lot more thinking on this subject - everybody's' comments here have helped me in my research & to sort out my own feelings on the subject.
I don't have time now, and I'm not ready yet anyway, but sometime in the next few days I will post a long contribution to this thread that should express better my feelings on this topic. It will not be a matter of me telling other people what to think, (and I sincerely hope that it will not come across as such to most of the people who read it). Ultimately to engage in such an exercise is futile to my way of thinking; it is what political dictator's try to do; and those guys always end up as failure's one way or another. Generalization? Well look at history.

Can I please? put it to those of you have expressed various degrees of frustration with what they appear to perceive as intransigence on my part, that I would much prefer this to be a discussion rather than some kind of political debate where people adopt opposing positions in an endeavour to win the day with their arguments. I would much prefer to see a free exchange of ideas within a spirit of mutual respect. And when this discussion comes to a conclusion that we can leave it as friends who have either agreed to disagree or have reached a greater degree of agreement than we would have had at the beginning.
