Bill,
Beginning last month, AVN began putting a removable Gay section in the magazine, and they only send it to subscribers who had "gay" listed in their profile, or something like that. I receive two copies... one has it, the other doesn't. Go figure. Anyway, you probably need to contact them to get it changed in their database.

Thanks Steve. Strange, I get 3 copies of their magazine in the office and none have the gay section. I beginning to feel like a step sister. Wonder why they now only include a gay section to only those who request it? Seems that a lot of bookstores must be missing out....wonder if they had complaints or just trying to save money at our expense.
Bill
I think it's to save money. But the new section is really nice, though... larger and snazzier.
Id guess it was more a marketing strategy myself, i mean, why show 'gay' ads to 'straight' webmasters?
Just like, why show 'straight' ads to 'gay' webmasters? Oh hang on...
Regards,
Lee
Yes, I think that was the general idea behind the move. They're also working on fixing up their website www.gayvn.com while they're at it.
PS: Have you heard dates yet for Internext Jan. 2006?
I guess I was under the impression that most of the print copies of AVN Magazine went to bookstores rather than webmasters and that a large number of bookstores carried both straight and gay films so it seemed sort of strange to me to start segregating out the gay section. It would make sense I guess for them to do it in the print version of their AVN ONLINE Magazine, but not necessarily in the regular magazine.Quote:

I don't know where I'll be sleeping but I've got everything else booked to go..
See you all there, if you're going.. :P
Now I know I've been running on empty for the past few days, frustratingly awake for 52 hours straight and I checked the folder I keep my board posts in .. and there is neatly filed away, my reply to this post.Quote:

Airfare to Ft Lauderdale $350
Event Ticket $250
Hotel and rental car $400
Seeing Jasun naked ===== Priceless
Does anyone haaaaappen to know why the Internext registrations are non-transferable? Seems silly to me since they already have your money...
The folks at AVN have never been known to be easy to get along with. By making them non-transferable they force you to buy more tickets. Of course, their excuse will be they are making sure that badges aren't stolen or making sure that everyone is at least 18 years old.Quote:
