So to put this out in the open (I am a somewhat transparent person, or try to be as I have nothing to hide or be ashamed of): I do not believe those 'teachings', at all!
Yes, I was raised in a R.C. surrounding (family and education), but I was not sucked in to the vortex (I went as far as to give away all the things that screamed religion, such as crosses & jewellery, which is given when one is baptised etc.)
Most religions, in my eyes, are attempts at passing basic social skills to society. Problem is, over the centuries they have misinterpreted and 'revised' by many in order to accommodate the needs of certain sects.
I forget, what version number is the bible at now? (Religion is no different from the Windows OS ... revisions occur frequently because of the amount of apparent flaws.)
Christians tried to 'convert' all others because theirs was the one true faith. Once they realized they were wrong, they 'reformed'.
All others performed acts of terrorism (and still do) because theirs is the one true faith. When their actions were not heard, they looked to a different 'prophet' for other avenues of 'spreading the good news'.
I am not arguing anything other than the legality of the issue. Should or shouldn't the goverment step in??? Well, it's not really my concern. I'm too busy with my own problems and agenda.Quote:

As far as the issues of animals their rights and talking;
The only thing I'm against when it comes to animals is hunting for sport or stupidity. And killing them off to the point of extinction.
I'm certain if you could ask a cow in a slaughter house if it wanted to live it would say "Yes." Or if you asked a baboon if it wanted to donate it's heart to someone it before he died he would probably say, "Fuck you human."
But for the record let me say that I wear leather, enjoy a good stake dinner, fish and enjoy hunting. If a doctor had told me killing a chimp would have saved my son's life. -- Well you can guess the rest.
For all those that are vocal for animal rights and treating them like humans. -- Maybe you should consider filling out your donor card and leave your organs to a local zoo.
.
I didn't think you were attacking me.Quote:

The only thing I ever ask, no matter how politically incorrect, colourful or distasteful my commentary might be. Is don't take a swing at me unless I took one at you first.
I'm not asking you to agree with me or even see it from my perspective. Just furnish me with some tolerance. We can simply agree to disagree and no one needs to be redneck punched in the head.
Another wise man once said;
"It's called Tolerance not love. You tolerate a crying baby. But it can still piss you off." << Mr. Garrison - southpark >>
As far as religion is concern;
Religions of all types and kinds normally say a hell of alot. But just because you find some wing-nut bullshit in a book doesn't mean that every single page written in it is crap.
It's kind of stupid under the best of circumstances to toss a baby out with the bath water.
well, hamilton - considering that i am the only one here who doesn't eat meat or buy leather, and i'm the one who stood up for your viewpoint, i'm not feeling very good about you. in this thread, i was talking tolerance for all viewpoints and it's MY views you insult. thanks a fucking lot :(

My commentary is more directed towards those that don't go the full 9 yards. They claim animal rights but you damn well know they are at the Keg on a saturday night enjoying steak and potatos.
I mean you can't have it both ways. You can't make a stand against supposed "animal rape" then condon "animal murder."
And I guess that makes you and I at the opposite extremes. And thats cool. It just means you won't go on a hunting trip with me and I'm not likely going to show up for dinner at your house.
But I'm sorry if you felt insulted. And thanks for sticking up for me.

As far as vegetarianism is concerned, animals kill each other in the wild all the time. It's part of the natural food chain. That humans would in turn kill animals for food is only part of that natural cycle. My problem lies not in the killing itself, but in the unethical and inhumane treatment of these animals before their deaths. Yes, it's "bad enough" that we kill them for our own mass consumption, but injecting them full of steroids and subjecting them to horrible conditions is where my problem lies. One of these days I swear I'm going to find a private butcher who only uses free-range chickens that are treated humanely and with reverance. Remember, our Native American forefathers (the true forefathers of this country) killed animals for food, but they had immense respect for the lives of those animals. I believe you can eat animals and still live an ethical life. Again, it's all just part of nature.
But fucking an animal is an entirely different manner. I always look to the animal kingdom for my answers to everything, for I often think that it is in the "less intellectual" beasts that true humanity lies. And it's just not meant to be for us to mix between species. Dogs and cats don't fuck. Deer and bears don't fuck. Snakes and tigers don't fuck. Our example for how to conduct our lives lies there, in the most primal kingdrom of the world. The animals provide us with the best guidelines for how to live respectful human lives. We just never think to look there.
This I can agree with completely. I live by the hunters code. You kill you eat it. And I don't see a good reason to let an animal suffer needlessly. My shot has been off a few times but the first chance I get, I put the creature out of it's misery.Quote:

There has always been a few cats around and it's funny as all hell to watch a male rabbit rape a cat. And it doesn't even give a shit what gender the cat is. Let me tell, as tough as tom-cat might think it is, it's nothing compared to a large wild hare. Trust me, the rabbit is faster and in the open stretch tends to win hands down.
I've also had to help shoot a bear that attacked a HUMAN female and was trying to do the humpty dance with her. And I've also seen a few horny moose take a strong interest in woman or two. (Nothing as serious as the bear but it was damn funny to watch a the big bastards over-come fear to get nearer the ladies.) Oh and moose are god-damn fucking dangerous. - So don't take your spouse out and attempt to replicate this.
Now I know this stuff doesn't necessarily find it's way into a national geographic mating ritual text book. But if you live in the middle of no where and hunt every day for 7 - 8 months out of the year. You're going to see a few things that the average joe outdoorsman doesn't.
I have Faith He will. That's the nice thing about being raised in the Church when I was - and not in these times. I carry the lessons of Love, not hate.Quote:

This goes to Hamilton Steele, others may or may not read it, it may be inapropriate and it may be mean (possible spoiler warning!):
"You sir are an asshole!"
Not only did you MISS the whole point of my post and that by posting the first time in this thread you involved issues I didn't even start to adress and you somehow managed to take this whole topic offtopic!
As for the part of the asshole, it's only my personal view judging from your previous posts (not only this topic) which I also found mean, biggot, judgemental and yes, politically incorect. But....I do believe that I might be totally wrong about you.
I do apologize.
Oh and post scriptum:
I wanted to tolerate your replies, so I didn't reply for few days... now I just can't tolerate your endless offtopic views.
dalimili - I am sorry, but I must go offtopic: I would like to know exactly what the following text is trying to tell us (or at the very least me, because no matter how I look at the following, it is along the lines of what you accuse Hamilton of ... bigotry):
Homosexuals cannot biologically reproduce children; therefore, they must recruit our children.
