On August 23rd John and I will be celebrating 15 years. Been good years particularly when you think that all during that time we worked and lived together, for the most part, without any conflicts. So, together 24 hours a day has worked for us.

My hats off to everyone! Eric and I have been together for 4 ½ awesome years. East meets west! But The US government had other short term plans for us. Eric flow home to renew his visa and was turned down. Now it’s up to two lawyers half way around the world from each other.
We talk every night on icq video, and phone each other every day. If they turn him down again he is going to try and get into Canada. If he gets in then I could at lest see him on weekends and long holidays. If he gets his citizenship up there, then I’m going to move up to the great north white.
Screw the US government!

Yeah that sucks, I think you should get out of there and take your boyfriend somewhere else.
I'm also in an 'east meets west' relationship....sucks I can't even bring him to the states when I do my once a year family visit, it costs $100 just to apply for the Visa and get rejected (of course no refund of the $100).
At least I found out Thai's can go to Brazil without a Visa so that's where our next vacation is going to be.

Ya I know the US sucks big time. People that don’t have to deal with a US embassy have no clue how bad it is, and how they turn people down just for sport.
If he can’t get back into the states, and he can get into Canada that’s where I’m going to end up with him. Funny from his country he can go to the UK with out a visa. Oh the INS gave hima full F-1 but the state separtment turned him down.
Have you ever thought about moving full time to Thailand? That would be a dream of mine, get out of this hateful country. I wrote my Senator that she should pass a bill to take down the statue of liberty. It doesn’t mean anything anymore.
Actually I've been living in Asia full time (primarily Thailand and Hong Kong) the last 5 years, and I love it! I couldn't dream of going back to live in the states. Of course my Thai boyfriend wishes he could go to the US, guess they always think the grass is greener on the other side, but Asia has definitely been the greenest for me.Quote:

My boyfriend and I celebrated our 10 years together this past January 6th :-)

Gah, I feel SO single right now. I haven't had a boyfriend in over 5 years now. The last one hurt me pretty bad emotionally. If I can get over my shyness then I could land a man. But my friends all seem to think its imperative that I get a man so they are out shopping the Asian market for me. ^_^
