L.A. Webmaster Lunch - Wed Nov 8

thanks to don mike, chad, armpit lover, jeff, tony and cam and a special thanks to frank from paycom for driving all the way to los feliz. a good time was, indeed, had by all, and i must say that the salad i had was incredible. i'll be trying it again.

there are pics, but i didn't take 'em.

chad, we still run into that double problem - employees only get a limited time for lunch and only have limited funds for lunch. i've been trying to get everyone to do drinks and dinner on the water in the marina for like 2 years and haven't managed to herd everyone that way yet.

are you going to be down in december?

The marina... whats the weather like there in, lets say February?

Huh??? You mean to tell me that we're working in the porn business--one of the most relaxed and laid-back in the world--and some of us still can't take an extended lunch once every two or three months??? If your bosses have you on such tight leashes, it's time for them to seriously loosen up. I thought one of the perks of this business was that we got to have fun while working. ;)

Strangely enough, at one of my previous jobs (which I shall nOt mentiOn nO matter hOw much yOu ask) I had to use my own unpaid lunch hours to attend the lunches and had to work out deals with the boss about letting me go to the trade shows. I would provide transportation and hotel if he would pay me for the time I was there. And I did it because I thought it was important for the company, moreso than he did, it seems. So the idea that someone might not have the liberty of an extended lunch doesn't seem that far fetched to me.

Luckily, I'm in a much better atmosphere now.

It was a great lunch again!! It's great that we are networking like this.
I am up for dinner sometime.
We should do it for a holiday get together.

BTW why doesn't that company write much here?

They have some of the cheapest content around for building AVS stuff, I'd have thought he'd have benefitted greatly by being on the boards more??

Well, the word "subtlety" is not a word I would have chosen to follow the words "you/me" under any circumstance, I could think of many other fine words, such as "Jello", "muffled groans of pleasure" (I know that's four words, blow me), and maybe "Greek". But I digress.

I don't know. They just hired a new sales guy. I saw him posting on another board. So maybe we'll see him around here one of these days. I have no ill feelings towards them. It was fun while it lasted and I still keep in touch from time to time. Sometimes you just reach a point where two roads need to diverge. :)
