I had a similar need for CCBill sites so I ended up doing my own research to get a list of about 50 sites. I can post it if there is any interest.
I think when you're starting out its better to stay simple, so joining up with CCBill sites was good for me. Some of the really big sites like Sean Cody, Jake Cruise, Chaos Men and Fratmen all use CCBill, while other megasites like Randy Blue have their own billing system.
By the way, I noticed that Alex from Manifest Men posted in this thread earlier and I wanted to mention that on my list of 50 or so sponsors, Manifest Men was the only one that had a preliminary application you had to fill out in order to be considered as an affiliate. I assume they're doing that to be selective about who promotes their site but as a new webmaster I found it to be kind of a pain so I never filled it out. I figured there were 49 or so other sponsors that made the sign up process easy as pie so I went with them first. One of these days I'll get around to signing up with Manifest (assuming they'll take me!) although right now I'm doing OK with all the other sponsors.
And this is not meant to be a slam against Manifest in any way... I think the site is first class, but I wonder how many other potential affiliates took one look at the application and moved on to another CCBill site like I did. If they really want more affiliates they may want to re-think their sign up page. Make it easy like the other CCBill sites... you can always reject the ones that don't meet your standards later.
We do have a prelim to signing up for our affiliate program. At least 1/3 of all sign ups are not a good match. We do not want to dilute the value of the material by sending it out to affiliates that are not working in a manner that is in line with good practices. Even sites with a lot of stolen content attempt to sign up. If we allowed that, then we would get the same heat that sites such as Sean Cody have taken. Prior to screen affiliates I would get emails demanding refunds since our site did not match the expectations that had been set the the affiliate site. We do not have "ass-ripping hardcore muscle fucking studs" as one affiliate stated. The surfer flips quickly to the join page and pays to be totally disappointed by the material they find inside.
This is a win-win-win for Manifest, the affiliates and the surfers.
i have to agree with alex here. i used to have a jackoff paysite featuring solo only guys, yet many affiliates sent us traffic promising hardcore action - even specific hardcore action like rimming. and we won't even talk about the hassles i get from sites promoting my non nude muscle site has hardcore - ouch! it doesn't do me OR the affiliates much good, puts me in a position where i have to term people, and is really annoying to me and to members who joined with different expectations.
