My brush with Bill Clinton
Dean:
Has Hillary had any rallies up in Dallas yet?
Austin is very much a political town all the time, so living here I've gotten used
to politics and politicians around every corner.
If Texas if the center of primary politics now, Austin may be ground zero. On Saturday night, come dinner time, I got a craving for barbecue. So after the gym, I went to this Bill Miller's BBQ in South Austin, next to the interstate.
Unwittingly I went there, and was astounded that the lot was teaming with cars and people walking around everywhere --- at 8 o'clock at night.
Well, turns out that there is a pretty good sized building next to Bill Millers, which I remember two years ago as being the campaign headquarters for Kinky Friedman for Governor.
Well after standing unused for two years, it's been rented as the Hillary Clinton state campaign headquarters. And the reason the place was teeming at 8 on a Saturday was because our 42nd President was there to officially inaugurate the occasion.
I guess they weren't hungry because no one stopped in for some barbecue. But the Palazzio Gentleman's Club stands a few blocks up the same street. Maybe Bill headed over there afterwards,
