I photograph a lot of amateurs models who want to do it to live out a one-time fantasy of being naked in front of a camera, they don't wist to be porn stars. I also tell them once their image is out there...it's out there - though generally anyone who is likely to see your image image, by an large, has as much of a secret as you do. Of course ya never know what image is going to be copied and pasted and used in spam etc...
As far as them having no qualms about their real names being so readily available to ever webmaster out there or anyone who can put up enough of a webpage to be considered one...well, I know a lot of people in this industry who aren't at all honest about how they earn a living so I can certainly understand Model A wanting to keep their family name out of it as much as possible.
The fact remains, however, that a models privacy - their real names, states and whatever information is not blacked out but the lazy or harried or just oblivious photographer, means every model will have their information distributed to every secondary producer out there or about a 95% wider distrubtion then they have now...that is definitely going to have an effect on the number and caliber of people wishing to model. Content providers can be as throrough as we can, and of course, there are no guarantees or absolutes in this world, but how long is it before some psycho stalks down a model? I hope it's a very very long time!

harlan, i agree with everything you've just said, and it's not a good situation.
on the other hand, i know models who were spotted on the street and stalked. this world is not kind or understanding of those who get naked for a camera or on stage :-(
