WOOF!
First, don't put words in my mouth I didn't say. K? Learn to read I never said ban
Second, catholicisim has at least made an effort to change itself from the days of killing people for not being believers or for being something other than Catholic.
Islam is bad, but not all muslims are. Islam does believe in the murder of us "infidels" if we don't convert. They believe in spreading throughout the world and spreading islam. Read what's going on in Europe as of late, and their push to be involved in decision making of social issues.
How many christian countries do you know where it's legal to kill people or maim them for whatever reason?
My country was occupied by muslims for 600 years untill 1878, during that time people were converted, those who refused were killed or served the pashas as slaves. Sons were taken from families and thought to kill then sent back home to murder their own parents to prove their aleigance to Allah and Islam.
My great great grandmother should know she was born at the end of the conflict and I've heard many stories, first hand.
It's a fact Islam is invading europe and they're making demands to be more involved in day to day politics.
The turks in my country even though they're 2% of the population demanded they have their news in turkish, and a few years back when I was in school, they lobbied the government to have mandatory class in Islam.
Which would have meant that if the class were to be instituted in my school, I have no say but attend it, and in my country failing one class means repeating the whole grade from scratch.
My aunt's best friend is turkish, so is her mom, who took her away from turkey so she can grow up educated among other things. She went back to turkey and fell in love with a guy. When they got married, he took her passport away, told her she is to wear a burkah and serve him as the Kouran says. When she attempted to run away he beat her so bad she nearly died.
Nothing was done by anyone because she was a woman, and because he owned her. He would bring other women over to have sex while commanding her to serve them food.
Same thing was happening with a lot of women on the block where she lived, only the obedient ones weren't beaten.
She ran away and wanted a divorce, at the same time she workes as a tour guide in Istanbul, she came back in 1996 or 97, and said he had found out where she lives and told her if she got divorce he'd kill her.
Again nobody got involved to help her because of all the religious reasons involved.
Then you have the muslim here in the US. Nobody came out to denounse what happened on 9-11. Their stanse is our religious leaders don't comment because they're not supposed to, so says the Kouran. End of story. But when the arab professor got arrested here in Florida everyone was up in arms how innocent he was.
And the muslim who are speaking out and are more progressive, and want to change and reshape their religion are being threatened with death for shaming the islam faith.
Irshad Manji comes to mind - muslim lesbian who's progressive.
Islam has a lot of growing up to do. So if you want pray 6 times a day, wear a burkah and what not, sure defend them.
I wouldn't enjoy it and I wouldn't let anyone push their muslim faith on me just because they're a certain % of the population and they don't like western culture.
Again read about what's going on in the Netherlands Uk and France which have large muslim population which refuses to accept the local customs and seeks to change society to fit their own restrictive lifestyle.

You needn't tell me about Turks, or muslims as I myself come from a country where 1/3 of population is muslim, 1/3 is orthodox catholic and 1/3 is catholic.
All that you wrote is a bunch of cliches, stereotypes that you CAN NOT apply to whole muslim world.
You are living in THE WORLD ACCORDING TO BUSH.
Buck Angel, you in!
UPDATE: I almost didn't bother to start this project, because I feared that the Pope would be gone before I even finished the chart. It's Saturday morning and the plucky Pontiff is still here! As you can see, a lot of people predicted the Papal passing on Friday - LOSERS! I've expanded the chart to extend through Monday. Stay glued to CNN.
POLITICAL CORRECTNESS STATEMENT: I did not intend to offend anyone's spiritual beliefs by starting this little game. If you look at the wording I've used so far, I've made no direct insults to Catholics or the Pope as an individual. The office of the Pope is considered a public figure and therefore fair game for criticism, but I did not go that route. The rest of the media is scrambling to make the same predictions and gambling with much higher stakes to program their coverage. The event WILL happen. The winners at CNN's death pool with be the advertisers whose commercials run at just the right moment. The winners of MY death pool with get free porn. What's the difference?
hey I'm not a loser yet, it's only 9:35am PST , I got 25 mins before I'm a loser. He's gonna die in 10 mins, you will see. :wtf:

Well, I'm a bit schocked with what I read here on Pope Death Pool.
U really should come here to Poland these days and see what this Man meant to ppl in the street.
I know we have a different point of view here, but try not to forget these:
* He helped to fight comunism.
* He met all "heads" of other churches and religions.
* He won a Nobel Price.
* He tried to visit every part of the world - no bariers, just pure love for every single human beeing.
Sure, he didn't do anything for us - gays, but in my opinion it's still to early for catholic church to change it. I hope the next pope will do.
I'm atheist, but I don't find the PDPool funny...
Congrats on the win... A sick yet fun contest ;)
Regards,
Lee
