And the same with crystal --- even if there were no crystal, some people would be barebacking. People get drunk at bars, hook up and have unprotected sex as well. Sex and sexuality is a titilating issue - and, unfortunately, a lot of these issues get caught up in lots of hype.
I know everyone here has their heart in the right place. I have met many of you guys - and we are all old enough the remember the 80s. But I have also considered the idea that people do not necessarily always act in the smartest, most logical and and necessarily healthful way. And who says what is best? The pope? Mom?
Risk is a part of life.
Should you go get an easy college degree and work as an accountant for a federal agency all your life safe and sound, or should you leave college early and strike out on your own as a self employed entreprenuer?
People drive without seat belts. People eat at Wendy's every day. Every male in here could vastly reduce their suseptibility to colon cancer, diabetes and heart congestion if they became a vegetarian starting right now. So are you? If you are not, are you therefore on a Death Wish?
There are arguably no positive benefits to smoking cigarettes... but hey it is fun. Anyone had a relative die from emphysema? Is this the same thing where people go on a personal vandetta, like anti smoking crusaders, anti porn crusaders or Mothers Against Drunk Driving?
One thing I have noticed about the barebacking issue, is that people have different attitudes about risk in their lives. A lot of this translates to their sexual attitudes and behaviors as well. (I've noticed the attitude among people in other countries is markedly different from say - older white gay guys on the pAcific coast.... or from hispanics in south texas.... anywhere)
I guess I just happen to have a classical libertarian attitude, and that's about most everything.... everyone is different.
