Squirt and I have just had a discussion offline and have come to an agreement that this thread is not really proving anything other than that we are great at constructive discussion with each other.
We have decided that our views are equally valid and as such will not be discussing our conflicting viewpoints any further.
Everyone else should feel free to discuss this further if they like.

I think boards are best with freedom of speech. People need to communicate freely and when they are forced to hold their thoughts, that is not being honest and letting true feelings get across. Sometimes the best results come out of difference of opinions, so that people can hash things out to a conclusion...or possibly even just reach an understanding that people are different.
