i've seen other tours that had no prices and i had to put my info before i got more info that didn't spam. the popular theory is if you ask for email and name first, separate from the other info, more people will sign all the way up.
usually using ccbill or epoch, unless you have custom programming, there's no way to collect the emails. we had 2 page join forms on my old sites and didn't collection the info.
Ok, whatever... congrats to Lee... I really hope you do make tons of sales and all your affiliates, but I think I've concluded my education on GWW board.

IMO I have to admit it's a different approach then what I do now (making huge all exclusive megasites), but I can see how it could make money. These sites really remind me of the AVS sites I used to do when I started in the business. I'd make about 20 1 or 2 page tour sites in different niches, throw them up, and hope for sales. I'd usually get lucky and find a couple tours in each batch that would sell really well, and since they also got the access to thousands of other sites the retention would generally be pretty good.
I do have to say I make much more money now that my sites are all exclusive, constantly updating (the tour and member's area) and really focus on branding in a couple of niche sites with tours that show more of what's in the member area...it's kind of the 'quality above quantity' approach which I think works best for long term results.
However, there are different approaches to making money in the business and it's all a learning process, I don't think we should all be so harsh to judge. It would be great if Lee could post some numbers on how he converts, which sites are doing the best etc. so we can all learn from him. I have no doubt that some of these sites are selling, I think what Lee needs to do is just focus on those sites that are selling the most and eventually turn them into exclusive high quality sites to keep them converting and retaining.

Right, but thats not to say older content doesnt sell, ive openly stated on GWW in the past that we still make sales from content we purchased pre '96 thats still true today.Quote:

We're telling the surfers exactly what they will find in the sites, we want them to renew their membership which is why we have weekly updates, if they dont renew, our affiliates wont make any money, which means they stop using us as a program.
Also, you are wrong on one thing, the user doesnt have to give away his email address to see the price, just click on the 'join' button without filling out the information, the custom join page is there to save the surfer time in purchasing their membership, as i mentioned earlier in this thread, the quicker you get a surfer to a join page, the more chance that YOU as an affiliate has at making a sale.
