We booked a very nice apartment downtown Prage :-)
Taxi fares are quite affordable as public transport is, too ;-)
and you do not need to go far after hitting the clubs at night ;-)
I've been here for a week. I know where 3 McDonald's are. Last night, I went to a CZ restaurant. Taking baby steps with food.
I've been to 2 Tescos, and the British import shop to get my Rice Krispies.
Go to the Palladium they VERY nice restaurants on the top floor there
I'm in Prague 2. I have walked to Flora shopping mall, which is too young and specialized, for us older working guys. But the McDonald's is sufficient, although expensive.
Yesterday and today I took the subway train to King Wenceslaus Prague Square, which is still quite a ways from the location you provided. The McCafe is really modern. The coffee part has a separate ordering counter from the food part.
So I will continue learning the subway train this week, to be ready for the subway train ride to Hotel Praha on Monday.
The Sunday eve party is walking distance from where I am living - although we have Tram passes. Hopefully there won't be much of a dress code for the party, as I travel tourist! Holly??
It will be fun hearing about everyone's travel woes! I came from London Heathrow last Sunday. Took a half hour in Security, as some dumb young woman who spoke with an eastern Europe accent, couldn't figure out what power supplies for Mac Mini's were, and what USB hard drives were! Finally a cute young guy helped her. I thanked him for "speaking English".
Forgot to thank him for being cute.

From Prague 1 where you are staying to Prague 6 where the event is being held is about 10-15 minutes by taxi - unless you get stuck in traffic, which always is a possibility in Prague.
What is the street address of the hotel?
