Why are gay people against brokeback mountain?

Does not wanting to watch the movie mean you are against it?

My boyfriend got pissed off because I refused to spend 2 and a half hours and $8 to watch something I already knew how it'd end.

I'm not against it, I just don't care for it, gay sad love movies don't do it for me. And from reading what was in the media and blogs around the web I got the gist of what the movie was about.

So I just thought, ok don't care for it not gona watch it, I rather save the $8 bucks and keep waiting for 2nd season of Battlestar Galactica DVD.

But just because I don't care for the movie doesn't mean I'm against it. I was for it before I was against it :D

Lesson here:

Gay people are not at all necessarily your target market if you are making a movie with gay and lesbian themes.

I think Brokeback's producers hit on this, and they are reaping the rewards.

Well, why spend $50 on the 2nd season of Battlestar Galactica? If you've been watching that, then you already know how it ends too. :)

Because he likes science fiction and Battlestar Gallitica while he doesn't like movies with a sad ending... really quite simple.

The amount of attention that this movie has received only goes to show how desparate the american public is for well written and beautifully directed movies dipicting gay characters.

However, some day in the future, someone in Hollywood will understand how important it is to portray more positive role models from the community and not dwell on the closeted or over the top "gays" etc. that dominate the stereotypes we have all become accustomed to.

Season 2 isn't over, yet. Not till Friday.
I'm just addicted to the series and I gotta have my Galactica - DVD crack :D
Especially now that cheap Comcast (Comcrap) dropped Universal HD after the olympics.

I think a 6th Sense with gay twist would be interesting.
