What a horrible first week's posting.

I'm sooo glad I'm no longer in the Army -- winter warfare exercises allways added a gazillion more pounds to pack about. And more bone chilling nights in the snow than I care to think about. :(

We ended up doing an overnight field exercise in Maryland in early January as well. Pup tents suck in the winter. I had to sleep with my rifle in my sleeping bag just so it would stay warm enough to hold with my bare hands! There's nothing like snuggling up to an M-16 at night!
