It appears they are charging for access to DVD movies they rip off and stream on their server. Shouldn't it be illegal for Verotel to process for these thieves?

No reason to assume they are content thieves.
That material wasn't exactly filmed yesterday. The American stuff on the right looks to be from the early 90's.
But they are in Hong Kong and their WhoIS is fake, so who knows.
Well, I am pretty damn sure the Japanese videos on there aren't licensed. Tom B. may be able to back me up on that one. Just because the videos are old doesn't mean they have the right to steal them.
I am pretty sure the WhoIs is fake, would be cool to contact some of the DVD companies and find out if it is stolen...if so, I think Verotel should cease processing for the site. I know I'd be pretty angry if it was my content being stolen and used in this way.
Well ive certainly never seen any gay Japanese titles available for licensing in the last 5 years so either they know of a provider the rest of us dont, have a special agreement with those Japanese studios or, that content isnt licensed.
As for the generic looking titles, its entirely possible that they are licensed however, without knowing th movie titles i have no clue for certain.
If anyone does happen across a provider where Japanese movies can be licensed, please let me know, ive been trying to get Ko Video to license me some of their DVD's for web use for the best part of 2 years and they arent having any of it LOL

This site is very reminiscent of a site I have seen run by a guy out of Taiwan. I live in HK and I can tell you there is no You Ma street anywhere in the city. I would feel 99% confident in saying that this guy is ripping off the movies. Not so smart to use the boxcovers for his little screencaps I guess.
I do not know, nor will I pretend to know, law, however I do not see how anyone can stop either from doing what they are doing. MAYBE if they were all located on one continent or in the same country ... sure, but they are not.Quote:

How I see it, there is little to no case, as well it would be a big waste of time and money trying to pursue any legal action against Verotel or the web master.
Again, I do not know law, nor do I really care to, let alone International law, so I am only using my reasoning.

knock them at the host. and it they refuse, go up to whoever provides them with access.
If the billing company does VISA/MC they will comply. Most hosts zap the offending site real fast because they want any headaches from lawsuits and stuff

Many people (including myself) have tried, but it will most likely never happen. The Japanese porn society is very exclusive and closed off, and even if you get a Japanese translator to do your bidding they refuse to let other Japanese companies license the content, much less foreigners.
I am actually in Japan now, and talked with someone in the porn industry here that said he is also 99% certain those Japanese movies are being ripped off...and that this is the exact reason they don't do business with foreigners or allow their videos to be sold outside of Japan!
I do think alerting their host and billing company is a good idea. Even if they don't shut the offending site down, I hope it at least damages their reputation.
The domain is registered my Misk... their policy clearly states:

They are hosted through ValueWeb in Ft. Lauderdale Florida.... ValueWeb is very corporate, and very strict on adult sites, let alone ones selling pirated content.
Their acceptable use policy clearly states they will close accounts if violations are recieved and verified.

This site has been around a while and uses a very good cloaking sequence to hide itself. It uses it's own Name server domains, they are using an IP cloaking and referral system to hide the hosting company, or ISP, although the trace does go back to Hamar Norway.
The videos are most certainly pirated copies of videos that this site is offering for download as .rar files. He is offering videos from a good amount of studios, including Falcon, Rascal, Bel Ami, All Worlds, Jet Set, and some minor niche studios, plus Japanese studios such as M Sports, Japan Pictures, Body Motion, Body Shop, YB Sport and more. He is offering downloads from studios that I personally know do not license their products in this manner.
His vulnerabilities are that he is taking payments through Ticketsclub.com, itself a company registered in Amsterdam. This site is also an AVS partner on cybersexnetworks so one could approach from that angle as well.
The only way to stop this is for the studios that are being pirated pursue the site. customers can't really do much, and casual surfers can't do much as we cannot sign affidavits swearing the knowledge that the contents are pirated.
I think it is very interesting that this site bothers to put a copyright notice on all pages in their site, as well as putting a "special thanks to asian studios" at the bottom of some of their pages featuring asian videos. He also disables right click and tries to hide his source code for those that try to save images from this site. The logic of trying to protect your copyright while stealing the entire content of the site is actually the silliest part of it all.
There was obviously a lot of planning that went into how to hide this website and how to make it hard to trace ownership.

As to the registrar, he is not only in violation of the agreement for hosting a sex domain, and an illegal activity, he is also in violation of the agreement by providing false domain registrant information.... address, contact information.
I don't think anyone can do much without swearing an affidavit and that would have to be done by someone who is being pirated.... i seriously don't think any company would act against this website without some sort of legal basis to do it on.... but then again, maybe the domain registrar would take an anonymous citizen report....
But I really want to know how you got that name to resolve to a hosting company in florida. :)

I went ahead and sent an email to the registrar and Verotel just as a 'head's up' that they are processing for a site using unlicensed content and there may be a chance the companies will take legal action.
What is especially troubling is the fact that they are probably making some pretty good money ripping off these studios. Just take a look at them on Outster and you'll see they are getting a pretty damn substantial amount of traffic:

It's also interesting to note that they are calling them 'Asian Guys movies.' That is something I would not be to happy about if I were you Tom.
We just went after a site that was pirating our video line (asianguys.com videos) and selling on their website in the Japanese section of their website. We went so far as to actually buy the videos from them and verified they were copies as we knew they were not buying from us or our distributors. The crappy part is that we have also been a customer of theirs for years paying ever increasing prices for their Japanese video titles, while at the same time they have been coping and selling ours...
We tried talking to them. We got them to sign an agreement to stop copying our videos in mid august this year, but they persisted. we went after them on several fronts.
1. we contacted verisign concerning violations of their secure site certificate use policy. They indicated their desire to remove their certificate and did so. the offending website got that notice yesterday and called us asking if they could buy some of our videos and pay by check. We told them no.
2. we contacted their web host in Japan, where it is illegal to sell uncensored porn....and their security department is eager to take action.
3. we contacted networksolutions with whom the site registered it's domain, and used a Name server redirect from NSI to point to their nameserver in Japan. NSI shut off the redirect today essentially removing
the domain from the internet until they comply with our copyrights. This effectively shut off the website...at least for now.... probably until they can transfer the domain to a new registrar and get pointed back at their server again, but on a Friday night... who knows... at least they should be down for a few days....
We hope this shot across the bow will get them to either get with the program and start purchasing the videos they are charging $60 to $80 USD per copy for....or at least stop selling our videos.
Interestingly enough, I notified some of the larger companies by phone, and emails in August to the specifics of this company that was pirating their videos and none seemed to really be inclined to take any action. We are talking Falcon, Bel Ami (US righs handled by Colt Videos), Jet Set, Rascal, and more..
Anyway, round 1 goes to the producer.... we are obviously happy that we were at the very least temporarily successful in this pursuit.
