So we went to a couple of stores last night to pick up a Christmas tree, one place wanted almost $80 for an 8ft tree, Walmart wanted almost $75 for a 6ft tree i mean wtf?
Looks like we are going to be waiting until Xmas Eve again and picking up a tree for $10 LOL

Man when I was younger...years ago... we sold Christmas trees on the Indian Reservation where we lived for... a dollar a foot.. My how times have changed....

Although I do not agree with using real trees for the holiday, I have been told by many that Ikea is selling decent ones for only $15 Canadian (not sure how much they'd be offered for in the US).
Maybe give em a shot, or better yet, buy plastic!

Even the good looking fake trees are $500 and up, but give it 8 years and its paid for right? Compared to buying a real tree every year.
When I was little we would go pick our own tree on my parents property in the mountains... Then we would plant a new one in the spring to be sure to replace the tree.
Im getting a fake one!! LOL all bout saving the forrest!! LOL I know Im a dork but when I say sensitive I mean really sensitive *shrugs* LOL But it is going to be more 175 dollars american hahahaha :)

Check with the dollar stores just in case, they might have something.

Actually I know some of you think you are killing trees by having a live one... christmas trees are grown year-round at garden nursery's. It's not like taking a tree from the rain forest.
They are grown just for this time of year, not to mention dont have people just throw them out when they take down the tree. There are local recycling companies almost everywhere. The trees are then chopped up and used for creating OSB, or housing plywood even recycled newspaper or decking.
I used to install hardwood floors as well, all the wood for floors is grown at mills and Oak tree plants. I believe its the same idea as Christmas trees.

I think west of Boca Raton there was a tree mill, we drove by it once it had what looked hundreds little bitty trees just growing out
i think Sears price for xmas trees are more expensive.

I finally gave up on having a real christmas tree last year. I like to put my tree up thanksgiving day and by middle of December there are practically more needles on the floor than on the tree, and then I end up stepping on the suckers until July.
I bought this one last year from QVC online. 7.5 foot, already has 1200 lights on it. So no more untangling strings of lights for me! Then of course you have to make sure that the lights work, and for me the usually work until they hit the tree, and then one bulb goes out and half of the string doesn't work... ARG!
since on the christmas subject, I thought I would post my outside lights as well lol.
Two story house... a 24 ft ladder.....me. NOT a good combination! But by golly I got it done!

I had bad luck with the last real tree.
They tied it to the top of the car and it was alright most of the way home. Then it suddenly blew off and got pinned under this old ladies car. It even jacked up her front end so she couldn't steer. I ran up to her car and I'm like, "Are you okay?" She was speechless so I pulled the tree out from under her car, somehow shoved it into the backseat with the window down and got the hell out of there. I put the scraped up side against the wall.
HAHAHA THAT IS SO FUNNY!! I love it! I would have screamed prolly and knocked down the damn tree! Went running out of the house! Spiders scare me really bad and I do not like.. THEM AND WHEN I SAY DO NOT I MEAN IT...!!Quote:
