Euro Traffic!?!?

Ok so does european traffic travel through .... hubs and traffic vehicles like say "Juicy Goo" etc... what are the best ways to get european traffic!?!? Cause the way I understand that getting european traffic ( Well significant ammounts ) requires you to have other marketing tools etc...

What would you suggest are the best ways to get alot of foreign traffic cause I noticed we get more US AND CANADIAN Traffic then say Euro and other types of traffic ... ( Not that I dont see Euro traffic .. Cause I do) But I know there is alot more and better ways to get TONS OF EURO and other types of other traffic from around the world!

Doesnt matter where you traffic comes from the delivery methods of generating income from it is the same.

It is more branding than anything I was american markets as well as world wide markets know of my company and feel confident that it is a good product and just get my name out there and create more branding... I mean I understand the point you made and money is a great thing but I guess I said what I mean to say wrong!!

This is more of a branding thing ... Like traffic advertising :)
as well as getting them to join my sites as the same time..
So it is creating more ( World traffic... if you will! ) getting sign ups and getting branding all at the same time!!

I want american market share as well..........as well as world wide market share and branding ( I want the whole world to know my company name?!!?) I totally understand your point and what you mean......but I guess what my questions is..

How to create Multi level.. Marketing/Branding/ and get Sign ups all at the same time sucessfully.. I guess I asked the wrong question initially when I posted this thread!!

the best way is to work on (or pay for) good SEO. Target euro phrases and use local experience to help you figure out what those are. Alternatively, go to somewhere like sex.com and buy filtered traffic.

Translate a key page into whatever language you want to target. My biggest drawing keyword isn't "hairy men" it's "hombres peludos." Having said that, I don't notice a lot of joins coming from those pages. However, it could be that the Spanish page brings the traffic in, and then, they slip into the English areas of the site.

But it also could be the case that I'm just wasting bandwidth and getting no joins.

You need to also think about how these people are going to pay. Americans tend to be credit card crazy, but that's not the case in other parts of the world. And if you don't have billing solutions to meet the needs of those markets, then you may not convert much.

Do you have bank debit card billing? Phone billing? Pay as you click billing? These are all alternatives that may help you improve on your foreign conversions.

You also need to think about the economics of the people your targeting. Your membership rate could be too high or the economics of that particular country make porn more of a luxury.

Well if you are talking about branding thats something entirely different to traffic generation and sales.

Do you currently have a presence in Europe for the DVD titles that you have appeared in? If not, that should be the first thing that you get sorted out otherwise, you are just another nobody to that market place with a porn site.

There are a heap of great distribution outlets for the European marketplace, Prowler, CloneZone, Tabor etc etc. You could also take out ads in print magzines over there such as Attitude, The Gay Times, and other lower quality bar rags similar to the Cybersocket magazine in the US.

If you are looking to attract 'surfers' to your site, then i would start initially by checking how much global traffic your site / sites get currently, we all get international traffic however, many of us dont realize it.

From there, you should start looking at multilingual options for your sites and, more importantly, your content and billing mechanism, offering a translated site is useless if you dont have both the content and processing capabilities to monetize those surfers.

There are a couple of suggestions anyway :)

LOL I get what you mean but your missing my point .. Im not trying to start a record lable it is just PORN .. This thread ended up not being quite what I meant it to be.. It is more thinking outside the box.. and I understand they have different languages... and different people and economies but that has nothing to do with what Im talking about .. No offense.... I just meant in general .. It is not like I just want FRENCH Traffic Im thinking of europe in a whole .. We've all met straight webmasters who decide one day to set up a gay site because they hear there's big bucks in that market. They usually make some money, but not much. As gay webmasters, we understand why that is: the gay marketplace is much more complicated than just being "gay". You can't just upload pictures of "men" and watch the money pile up. There are different niches and cultural differences that you need to understand before you can have serious success in this market.

My point to you is that it's pretty much the same with international traffic. If you just target "europeans", you'll make some extra money but not much. When you understand how France is different to Latvia, and how the UK is different to Germany, then that's when you can start to tap into the millions of people who live in each country and start making loads of extra cash.

I'm no expert on it, but I thought I'd offer it up as something to consider because you said you were interested.

BritishTwinks is right on. And this thread is highlighting one of the problems with a lot of American companies: there's the US and everything else. And you can't think of the rest of the world or even a whole continent of people as everything else.

You've got emerging economies in the former eastern Bloc that are still trying to figure everything out and recover economically. You've got the anything-goes Dutch. You 've got the Brits who tend not to use Google as much as Yahoo. You've got fair-haired Scandinavians and dark-haired, olive-skinned Mediterraneans. And I don't know the percentage but a good portion of the French population is actually Muslim. And Germany has some pretty strict age verification laws. And you're dealing with populations who use credit cards, others only use bank cards, others can't afford to use either, and much of the continent is still using dial-up.

There's a lot to think about and it's not just as simple as saying, "it's just porn." If you're going to Internext make sure you talk to some of the international companies there, you'll get a fresh perspective.

when advertising on sites like google, i generally limit my countries to us, uk, canada, japan, germany and maybe a few scandanavian countries. but from avs traffic, search engine listings and gallery traffic, we see people from every country join - and hopefully enjoy - pretty much all the sites i've worked on.

Good observation here.

I've done well at selling to Europe. For me I look at it as a fun challenge. Kelly, the thing is that you have to put things on your site that Europeans will want. It's sometimes difficult for Americans to see this, but that is hot and selling in California is not the same thing people in Switzerland want.

For example, if you look at the GAYvn award nominations, you will see a pretty representative collection of products by and for Americans. The rest of the world is elbowed onto one single "Foreign" category. Don't do this... and this is the kind of things people in other countries see as typical self-important Americanism.

If you want to taget non-US sales you should spend a little extra time honing your bait for these particular fish.

I figure a good way to get some Brits on my site is to promote some of Eurocreme's Bikerboy/Skaterboy/Beachboy movies. Looking for more Europeans, I've profiled a number of the Czech models popular today. What about some French? I've added some JDC.

Remember in the movie Victor/Victora how the shows in Paris were tasteful and extravagent, and then they would go to Chicago and the shows would be all-tits and vulgar?? European sensibilities really get into directors like Kristian Bjorn or Lucas Kazan.... which can be a lot more "arty."

Now if you have a personality driven site, I can think of some things. I notice on the Yahoo fan groups that there are plenty of non-US people on there. If you want to draw and keep some Germans on your site, then do a little outreach. Say not just "Welcome" on your front page, but also "Willkommen!"

That is just one example of a way to make your non-US visitors feel more important. If they feel bequem (German for comfortable), they are more likely to stay, spend their money and return.

in the eye of Europeans Americans are self-centered. I know this is not quite true to ALL Americans, but to "Americans" in general. Europe has far more cultures and languages to cover than whole South- and Northamerican continent combined have.

You will need to reach out to those different people and make sure they find what they are looking for (e.g. language specific keywords).

yeah, but unless you plan to have a german member area, having a german tour seems like a cheat to me. i mean, here's this site - i can read every word on it - until i pay money. that doesn't seem fair.

btw, germany has always been one of our best-selling countries on our english tours, so i suppose they aren't that unhappy with them.

most of the webmasters i work with are from europe - finland, iceland, czech republic, amsterdam, france, etc - and they make tours that look like the tours most u.s. webmasters make and they like those tours. they feel they would sell well to their countrymen.

In defense of Americans, a large reason this "insensitivity" attitude exists is because we live in such a gigantic place. If you live in, for example, Dallas.... you are hundreds and hundreds of miles from the nearest international border....and Texas is a "border state!"

Compare that to living in Hamburg. Out of necessity, you'll just be a stone's throw from the Danes, and the Dutch, who both have their own languages and distinct histories. To most Americans, we are so far from things like that.
Plus the fact that we are used to having the world market bombarded onto us, because this is the first place to go if you want to sell things.

People here have trouble thinking in the other direction, because we essentially do not have to drive in reverse very often.
